"Whoever it was who said “There is only Louise Brooks” was right on. With those sad manga-heroine eyes and immaculate bob haircut, she’s become like Marilyn Monroe for nerds. This film is as full of dread and emotion as any modern-day thriller—and all without the benefit of, y’know, audible dialogue. Spectacular."

"Hamilton is a modern master of vast, operatic sci-fi. When an alien probe accidentally comes in contact with a dying man, it follows his soul to the netherworld and accidentally lets loose a legion of raging spirits. Space zombies, galactic war, high tech, rockets, it’s all here in a marvelous first volume of three."

A modern but sadly unnecessary take on time travel
The problem with time travel films is that there's quite a few out there and they're all fairly similar. Project Almanac really suffers as it is sadly inferior to most of these other films, some of which it even references here.

Its a stylish and modern take on time travel and this is one of the good things about this film. It also paints the act of travelling in time as a little harsher on the body than most. The problem is the plot is fairly predictable, some of it is just silly and doesn't make sense, and the ending is just plain old stupid. There's potential here, it's just a shame they haven't done anything with it.

I have to say I expected the worst from this but was pleasantly surprised and pleased by the time the credits rolled. I saw most of the TV series as a young boy and this film does keep a lot true to the original TV series. Just given a modern update and treated like a modern day action film with big stunts and over the top action plans only the A Team could do. At times it felt like a mix of the Bourne Trilogy crossed with Ocean's 11 elaborate missions! There is plenty of humour and it doesn't take itself seriously, pity the critics who just didn't get it, fool's!! A pure popcorn action blast everyone in the right frame of mind should enjoy.

This book is a modern adaptation of Jane Austen’s Persuasion. I was very excited when I heard about this book as Persuasion is my favorite of her novels, thank you to Touch My Spine Book Reviews for turning me onto this book! I loved seeing these characters come to life in a new light. I thought the setting was interesting and worked very well in adapting it into a modern time. I must say though that my favorite parts of the book were where it diverged from its source material and made something new. It was certainly successful in taking its inspiration from Austen but also did a great job of creating something interesting and unique. This is a fun romance story that I would definitely recommend.
