He is put through all the horrible things we hear about in prision. However he befriends an inmate who has been there for a long time who controls the smuggling of hard to get stuff in. Morgan freeman and Tim Robbins give Epic award winning performances in this suspenseful, dramatic movie that never has a dull moment in it. "Shawshank, I guess, because of the quiet nature of the movie, the development of it. I’ve heard that it’s a movie that didn’t really catch the multitude of fanfare for a while. People didn’t catch on immediately. I got it immediately. I got the story, the narrative, and who can’t listen to Morgan Freeman narrate a movie all day long? Also, Tim Robbins killed it. Our very own William Sadler, of course, who has brought to us Tony Teresi, in terms of [Joseph Sikora’s] Tommy’s father in Power. Sadler was great in it. Clancy Brown, who was in The Guardian with me and Kevin Costner, one of my first castmates. The Guardian was probably my second big movie. So, I love Shawshank."

Nick Nolte and the ever reliable Morgan Freeman (0 more)
Dire and predictable script. (0 more)
Mediocre and lumbering action movie.
This has Gerard Butler too old/out of shape to be a credible presidential protection officer. None of the style of Clint Eastwood's "In the Line of Fire" which had a similar story. As a plus point, it didn’t have the distasteful xenophobia of “London Has Fallen” (which I rather generously gave a 3/10). So I feel I should at least top that. But again I feel I’m being generous. It’s all crushingly mediocre, and if I can remember any of it after three months, I’ll be very unlucky indeed!

Deep Impact (1998)
Deep Impact (1998)

\summer, 1998.

There's two movies out about an asteroid hurtling towards earth, and the mission to stop them.

In one, (parts of) the Asteroid hits.

In the other, a vest-less Bruce Willis saves the day.

This is the first.

Perhaps lacking the star power of the second (Bruce Willis, Liv Tyler, Ben Affleck, Billy Bob Thornton), this one has Morgan Freeman as the President of the US in tenure as the asteroid hurtles towards earth, and Tea Leoni as the journalist who breaks the story. A pre-LOTR Elijah Woods also pops up to provide the 'everyman' view of the situation, as the high school kid who first discovers the comet hurtling our way.

A bit slow getting started, and definitely a more thoughtful approach to the impending end-of-the-world scenario than Armageddon

It has everything you want in a movie..drama, suspense, romance, explosions, bank robberies and so much more
Brilliant casting..Christian Bale, Heath Ledger and Morgan Freeman!
Why So Serious Son? Best Joker ever!
I wasn't expecting to like this movie as I'm not really a big Batman/superhero fan. However, I took my son to see it in the theater and was instantly enthralled by Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker. The rest is history! I can (and have) watched this over and over again and I can only say that about a handful of movies. Quoting the Joker's lines became a thing in my home for months after we saw it.

Blazing Minds (92 KP) rated Hellraiser: Judgment (2017) in Movies

Hellraiser: Judgment (2017)
Hellraiser: Judgment (2017)
2017 | Horror
I remember seeing the first movie in the franchise back in the late 80s and it was the film that tweaked my interest in Clive Barker‘s work, now Hellraiser Judgment is being released here in the UK on Blu-ray from the 1st March.

So let’s get straight into this review, my first response Hellraiser Judgment sounds very familiar then it hit me, the film reminds me of Seven with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman but with the Pinhead and some Cenobites that have been thrown into the mix almost like a Seven vs Hellraiser movie.

As we’ve come to expect from the Hellraiser franchise there is plenty of those gory, blood-soaked, scenes that can make the stomach turn as well as some other uneasy scenes that make you look away, look out for the “cleansing” scene that’s one that had me heaving!

Wanna know how I got these oscars?
directed, produced, and co-written by Christopher Nolan and Based on the DC Comics character Batman.

the second installment in Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy.
Bruce Wayne/Batman (Christian Bale) allies himself with Lieutenant James Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) to reduce crime in Gotham, but are seemingly outsmarted by a criminal mastermind known as the Joker (Heath Ledger) who seeks test Batman's influence by creating chaos in Gotham.
also Michael Caine reprises his role as Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred Pennyworth, Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes, and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox.

This was unfortunately Heath Ledger's final movie before his untimely passing and is considered his greatest portrayal, which won him the Oscar award for best supporting actor.

The Dark Knight grossed over a billion dollars worldwide, becoming the fourth film in history to gross more than $1 billion worldwide and the highest-grossing film of 2008.

Angel Has Fallen (2019)
Angel Has Fallen (2019)
2019 | Action, Drama, Thriller
It is hard to believe that it has been six years since Gerard Butler introduced audiences to Special Agent Mike Banning. Over the course of the film and its sequel; Banning kept the President safe against a never-ending barrage of threats both home and abroad.

For the new film “Angel Has Fallen”; Banning must protect a new President (Morgan Freeman) and clear his name when he is framed after a devastating attack on the President.
When he is suddenly the most wanted man in the country; Banning must use all his skills when he is abducted and subsequently escapes while be transported to a detention facility.
The movie takes a bit of time getting up to speed but wisely has some good action along the way to setup the film and increase the tension levels. Once the action revs up, it is full on pedal to the floor action with Butler throwing himself into the fray against heavy odds no matter the cost.

What makes this film stand out from the others is that narrative is more plausible than other action films and you do see Butler dealing with the results of his profession. This is not a Teflon Super Hero who has bullets bounce off his chest. This is a man who bears his physical and psychological scars from his years in service and has a hard time letting go of the work even though it is what he believes he is best suited for.

Morgan Freeman gives a very strong performance as does Nick Nolte who stole many of the scenes in which he was in and provided some real Wild Card comic relief and action to the film.

In the end it is Gerard’s picture and he throws himself into the part without becoming repetitive of his past films and giving Banning a relatable and sympathetic quality that is often lacking in films of this type.

In a summer of many films Over Promising and Under-Delivering: “Angel Has Fallen” is a refreshing exception as it was an enjoyable thrill ride from start to finish and I sure hope we have not seen the last of Agent Banning.

4 stars out of 5

Shawshank Redemption
The film has a great story, memorable characters, incredible acting, and impressive production design as well as amazing music. This is one of the best films I have ever seen and I watch it whenever it comes on and I also have the DVD. If you’re a fan of Stephen King this movie will make you satisfied as well as non Stephen King fans who never read his books like me.
