Almost...

At the cheapest level, this is a cheap way to watch the kinds of series/films you want to watch without adverts or waiting. Having created the entirely new concept of "binge watching", Netflix have made it easier to watch on your PC, laptop, tablet or mobile phone, moving from one to the next almost seamlessly. As a citizen of the UK, this is a great alternative to having to pay a license fee to not watch 99% of the available programming. Particularly as the license fee is now over double the cheapest Netflix subscription.
The regular addition of new shows means there's always something to watch, although it should be remembered that they do also remove shows, sometimes.

Creepy

I didn't really know what to expect from this movie- and it's a weird one. The acting/cinematography were fine. The story was a little slow moving, but unfolded well enough. Took some strange turns and had plenty of "creep" factor throughout. It doesn't make much sense at first. Wasn't sure if it was going to be a "ghost/haunting" movie or a "demon/possession" movie. Turned out to be kinda both. As it unfolds it all comes together at the end and is explained. Some of the imagery/effects are probably a bit too much for little kids (decapitated bodies, etc) but you adults should enjoy this one if you're into creepy horror movies. While not the greatest movie out there, I'd say this one is definitely worth a watch.

Qute a few years ago, I read a couple of books in the 'Jurassic Park' vein that I really quite enjoyed: 'Relic', and then 'Reliquary'. Not that long ago, I also read another book by the same author(s) ('Mount Dragon'), but found it to be rather slow moving and a bit tedious in places.

Never-the-less, and despite a rather provocative title, I thought I would give this a chance. I can happily report that this moves at a much faster pace then 'Mount Dragon', and is more enjoyable than that novel - more like what I remember 'Relic' and 'Reliquary' to be like. I might not agree with all the view-points expounded in the novel, nor even with its eventual denouement, but at least it has restored my faith in the author!

A complex and ambitious movie documenting several interconnected stories about the drug trade. Steven Soderbergh’s style is almost documentary like (plenty of shaky cam) and I liked his use of blue and yellow filters illustrating the different stories . Personally I found the film a bit overlong and some of the cartel storyline a bit draggy and convoluted. The film is more successful when showing the human side of drug addiction and I particularly enjoyed the storyline documenting the daughter of a senior politician tasked with tackling drug trafficking descending into addiction. Michael Douglas performance here was excellent and quite moving and definitely the standout amongst the ensemble cast. So a very impressive movie for its scope and scale, not all of it works but what does works very well.

Classic drama from Powell and Pressburger. The life of a British army officer throughout the first part of the 20th century is explored, particularly his friendship with his German counterpart and the women he loves (all played by Deborah Kerr).

Typically inventive and imaginative stuff from the Archers, with bold and witty transitions across time and space, moving depictions of romance and friendship, and an understanding that you can deal with serious topics while remaining playful and creative. Terrific performances and direction: acknowledged as an influence by Scorsese and (less predictably) Tarantino. Churchill tried to have the production of the film halted, feeling it was unpatriotic, but as well as being one of the greatest British movies of all time, it is also one of the finest films about what it means to be British.
