THE SWEETHEART QUEST is part of the multi-author Sweetheart Escapes series. I enjoyed seeing cameos from characters in some of the other stories as I read about Trevor and Rhodes.

This is a quick read, with the pacing the same. It all happens VERY fast. The whole time of Rhodes and Trevor being together (apart from the epilogue) takes place over two weeks. The first weekend is when they meet, followed by two weeks of being grumpy whilst apart. Saying that, I did enjoy it.

I could understand where both Trevor and Rhodes were coming from, with their fears and concerns about the future, but I would have liked to have seen more about how they would work together to resolve said issues.

All in all, a sweet and fast romance that I recommend.

a good start
Independent reviewer for GRR I was gifted my copy of this book.

For the most part, I enjoyed this book.

Ethan and Ayo are well suited, once they get over the long standing hatred between their respective . . breeds?.... maybe, not sure what the word is! Ayo is a magic user and Ethan is a wolf. They is long standing hatred between them.

I liked the supporting cast, Ethan's none-pack, and Ayo's friends.

Besides the fact that it's first person, present tense and multi POV, the thing that really has my book feelings going nuts is this:

I felt that I missed something. All the way through, I felt that there should have been a book before this one, an introduction to this world OR this book was a spin off from another series, and I should have read that first. There was MUCH that was not fully explained, of just chucked at you, like you should know what was being talked about. World building, mostly.

And there isn't a previous book or series, because this appears to be the first book under this author name.

I will read book two, though. Finn Walton intrigued me enough to keep me interested. It will be interesting to watch their skill develop.

3 very good stars

CRYSTAL SHARD is the first book in the Paladins of Crystal series, a new reverse harem series that promises to be a blast! In a nutshell, Crystal is living with her brother and s-i-l, in a dead-end job. One bad day later and she's hiding in a garden when her muse, whom she didn't know she had, decides to take matters into her own hands. Crystal is transported to a new world and ends up meeting five royal Paladins (Buff Lords). There you go.

Of course, there's more to it than that. I am hoping there will be a book for each of the Paladins but this one was Anton's. Crystal feels attracted to all of them but Anton is the one she spends the most time with. The sparks fly but Anton can't act on his wants and needs, not if he wants his mother to live.

The world-building here is exceptional, just what I've come to expect from this author. The characters are multi-dimensional and, in Crystal's case, snarky and headstrong. This leads to some fantastic situations that you can see clearly.

This book ended way too soon for me. I feel it's going to be a series to read one after the other! Absolutely fantastic. I loved every word and can't wait to read more. Highly recommended by me.

MANDATORY REPAIRS is part of the multi-author Collier's Creek series. In this story, we meet Max and Nash. Nash lives and works on Twisted Pines Ranch. Max is the half-brother of the owner of Twisted Pines. They first meet when Max is drunk (beer, lack of food, and high altitude!) and doesn't remember Nash at all. Nash likes Max until he finds out who he is.

Although I enjoyed this story, it felt jerky and uneven with its pace. I would also have liked more character development. I mean, Nash doesn't like Max once he finds out who he is. But what are the exact reasons, because what we get told is rubbish. And then, Robin (the half-sister) tells him to apologise. He goes to the bar, and then they're in bed! This happens on a couple of occasions.

Saying that, I did love the scene in the bookshop, and also when Max is trying to get out of a sticky situation. He kept his head and did what he could, instead of whimpering and playing the poor princess.

I enjoyed this addition to the series and look forward to reading stories set in Collier's Creek.
