Murder During an Electric Christmas Season
This December, the Daybreak Island Chamber of Commerce is planning several events, hoping to draw visitors during the off season. Maddie James is trying to focus on running her cat café for a change, but she finds herself drawn into the drama surrounding the events, especially the decorating contest. But when a murder happens, Maddie really jumps into things, especially with her best friend one of the suspects. Can she figure out what is going on?
I’m glad we got a second Christmas entry in this series. As always, it was fun to visit the characters again, although I do feel like some of the minor characters are hard to keep track of. The pacing in this book was off. Yes, everything came into play once the murdered happened, as I figured it would, but it wandered around quite a bit on its way there. Still, I was really caught up in the second half, and the suspects kept me guessing on the way to the logical climax. I also enjoyed the Christmas spirit we got in addition to the murder and mayhem. Fans of the series will find this puts them in the holiday mood.

Lindsay (1774 KP) rated Shades of Murder (Mac Faraday Mystery #3) in Books

Are you a murder mystery fan? Do you enjoy mystery altogether? You may fall in love with Lauren Carr. Her books will get you hooked. You and start any of her series by reading any one of her books. But you can read her books from the beginning. You can read any of her books as stand-alone as well.
I got hooked on her book by reading a mystery book of hers. Now I have read quite a few of them. The book I just finished is “Shades of Murder” in the form of an audiobook, book three of her Mac Faraday series. I have read almost all of her books in all of her series. They do get interlocked. Some readers may introduce you to new characters and a new series of books.
We started with the prologue of the story and murder in the preamble. We stand introduced to David and his parents, who are on vacation when we open this book. David stands called out to a crime scene. We want to know who killed Ilysa Ramsey.
We get introduced to Mac and his german shepherd in chapter one. When he receives a mysterious package sent to him, Archy wants to know. It seems like it was a painting that had stood stolen. We are wondering whether she painted her death.
Then we are introduced to Joshua Thornton and Cameron Gates. They seem to be working on a murder mystery of their own that when cold. Who is this Jane Doe?; Who kills her? Who happens to be Neil Hackaway’s wife?
What will happen when Cameron Gates and Joshua Thornton find out that there is another Ilysa Ramsey murder in Deep Creek Lake? Who out to kill who. Why does the FBI get involved? There seem to be more murders cases and lots of questions.
These cases seem to collide, and what will ever happen. Will the group work together and figure out the killer? Is there more than one killer? There may be a plan for each of the suspects years later. You will have to read or listen to find out how it all fits together.

Movie Critics (823 KP) rated Game Of Thrones - Season 1 in TV
Jul 10, 2017
Intrigue, deception, seduction and murder are all accepted and expected ploys in this game and the players are quite expert in their manipulations. The best is yet to come, this first season is one of the best crafted political dramas in quite a long time.

Great cast (2 more)
Beautiful location
Lots of twists
A cool icy thriller
A weird but compelling thriller set in a small town near the Artic circle. After a body is found could the town have its first ever murder? A strong cast line up, against a beautiful scenic backdrop and an often bizarre story that will have you on the edge of your seat.

Zac Effron was very good (1 more)
Shown from his ex partner perspective
Keeping it short.
A good film with isn't 100% factual correct filmed from his ex partner perspective. Not just focusing on Bundy crimes. Zac. Effron dose great as Ted. But think if he played a fictional murderer with his good looks. We could of have had a great murder cop film.

Cruise and Foxx deliver
Unsuspecting cabbie finds himself driving round an assasin who has dropped into town for a spot of serial murder.
Unexpectedly good. Probably the best performances I had seen from both Cruise and Foxx at this point.
Foxx's character is nicely convincing thanks to a lack of fake hollywood-heroism. Cruise's charater is just a bad, baaad man.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2387 KP) rated 7th Heaven (Women's Murder Club, #7) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
The two cases the women's murder club takes on this time include home fire murders and a missing Politian's son. One of the cases was well plotted and fun, while the other fizzled out before an improbable and unsupported end.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2387 KP) rated 2nd Chance (Women's Murder Club, #2) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
The women of the Women's Murder Club must come together when seemingly random killings begin to show the target is policemen and their families. There were a couple of plot points that seemed a bit cliche, but I really did enjoy this book.
