Great research (2 more)
The hosts are amazing
They put a funny spin on a serious topic
Humor about murder - who would have thought.
This podcast may not be for the faint of heart but I love it. James Pietragallo and Jimmie Whisman are the hosts of this show. The two comedians lend their wit and humor to a serious topic and it works. They are upfront with the fact that they are in no way making fun of the victims but they are going to be humorous in their discussion of the topic.
Now, when they say Small Town, they are not kidding, they are legit talking about tiny towns with weird murders, lots of murders or somewhere in between.
This is a podcast that you need to give a shot. Give it the 3 episode challenge and see if this long-form podcast doesn't find a place on your playlist.

BookCritics (259 KP) rated Magpie Murders in Books
Jun 12, 2017
I recommend this to you if you’ve read quite some Agatha Christie and appreciate a crime novel inspired by her work. She is mentioned quite a lot in the book, so if you don’t know the author or don’t like her books, I think you’ll find this irritating.

Absolutely give it a go.

If you are not already acquainted with this series, and you are a fan of horror and/or psychological thriller fiction, this is an absolutely perfect place to start. It is written in parts, detailing Asakawa’s investigation of a set of mysterious murders and the discovery of a far greater curse. No part is so long as to drag on needlessly, though some are rather short.

While Natalie tries to figure out the identity of a John Doe who died of natural causes, Monk investigates a string of murders that have the most unual common element - a couch. Another fun book with friends old and new that includes some good twists and laughs.

Aging Hollywood star Polly Pepper finds the road to a comeback is dangerous when she steps into a role that lead to two murders on a movie set. Filled with Hollywood gossip and over the top characters, it's a fun debut that suffers from some rough writing.
