I started watching this show (on Starz in the US) because I like limited series. Limited series are awesome because they're kind of like long movies, long enough to know the characters, but without having to worry about show runners milking old story lines. The first episode of this series feels both fast and slow. You learn a lot, but it doesn't come screaming at you. The suspense builds the further in you get and the intrigue increases along with it. I think I enjoyed the characters and their development more than the actual overall plot. However, it was still a good story all in all. A good mystery/crime drama to satiate your needs.

The annual Winter Wonderland is about to open when Kaitlyn Clydesdale comes back to town. While she hints at knowing information about Charlotte's parents, Charlotte also wonders if she can trust this woman. Before Charlotte can learn more, Kaitlyn winds up murdered, and the police focus on Rebecca's boyfriend. Can Charlotte clear him of the crime?

The mystery is strong, and I have a hard time figuring out the killer. The story moved quickly, and the characters were mostly great. My only real issue was Rebecca, who is usually a fun character, was so over the top I found her annoying.

Promising plot, badly executed
I very badly wanted to like this book, but it was such a struggle. The plot is very promising and intriguing and I was expecting some sort of crime mystery or thriller, but instead of that it was more of an emotional book about mental health. Whilst I have no issue with that, I found main character Jen to be a little frustrating after a while and around half way through the book I was getting very bored. It didn’t feel like the story was getting anywhere quickly and when it did finally reach the end, it was a bit of a disappointment as it was exactly what you could’ve predicted right from the start. Sadly not my kind of story.
