The First Karate kid
Loosely Based on Chinese mythology, kung fu legends Jackie Chan and Jet Li Co star in this fun adventure loosely based on Chinese mythology.
Full of stunning visual effects and kung fu moves as only they can do, this punch (and kick) adventure places the two in anchient China, when an everyday teen hooked on Goofy but classic kung fu movies is mysteriously thrown back in time where here meets the drunken master (Chan) and a mysterious Monk (Li).
Together the two must train the boy to fight as the chosen protector of the staff of the Monkey King in a journey to return it to its master.

Then they can kill each other (movie joke).

The start of a great series!!!
This is BY FAR one of my favorite book series. The authors set it up really well and give backstory and pertinent information without getting lost in flashbacks or dragging on forever. Plus I like the references to native American culture and mythology!

Reasons I love this series...

1.) Vampires
2.) A "naked" cat/demon
3.) It makes me laugh!

Jaye Wells has created an amazing world that is a combination of fantasy, biblical mythology, and humor!

She has made up words (trampire being my fav.)...

And she has started us on an amazing adventure that I cannot wait to finish!

4 Stars...LOVE IT!

I’m not even really sure but unless you are an avid reader then you may need to take frequent breaks from the series (0 more)
Love the series
The details in this book are a nod to both native and witch craft and there is no disappointment if you are an avid mystery lover. The cliffs will have you crawling back for more

Keep it Creepy, Keep it Cool
I am relatively new to the world of Podcasts and luckily for me Spirits was one of the first I came across. It immediately became a must listen for me. I love learning the history of various mythologies and stories from around the world, as well as the hilarious tangents that the girls often go down.

This novel allowed for very interesting views into the life of Bruce Lee. There is much exploration into the mysterious aspects of Bruce Lee's life in this memoir.

I enjoyed how he strips the mythology of Bruce Lee from the man and gives readers a view into the "real" man underneath.

I would definitely recommend this to people who are interested in Bruce Lee.

I really enjoyed this book. As a lover of fairy tales and mythology, it was the premise of the main character being a half Native American coyote shifter that interested me the most. Mercy being an out of the ordinary heroine having a background in history and being mechanic was something of plus. This little coyote has what it takes to run with the big bad wolves.

The continued adventures to Kelsey's and Ren's quest. Starts right after the end of the first book. We get to know more about Kishan and Kelsey's "normal" life in Oregon. The supporting characters are mostly male and there are few female characters which is a little annoying. Also the mythology expands to include most of the world, not just India and Japan or various Asian myths.

I received a copy of Soul of the Sword from Harlequin TEEN (US Canada) through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book was superb. It has everything! Ghosts, demons, and forbidden romance.
I really enjoyed the mythology and the characters.
It's the second book in the series but I had no problem following what was going on.
I am Really looking forward to the third book!

I really didn't care so much for this one. It got bogged down with the mythology right in the middle of the story.

I enjoyed Jessica and Eva's story, but this one felt it was lacking something. I really didn't care for Patsy and Wilson and the story just seemed like it built up to a 2 second finale and that's it. With all the back story, I expected more.
