Great Podcast
I love lore, and often listen to it in the car if I'm driving a fair distance somewhere. It's really interesting to learn some backstory and info on popular myths and legends. I also like the narrorator's voice, he's very calming.

Booze and legends
Listen to myths and legends presented and analyzed by two amazing hosts, with a smattering of feminist and queer theory applied to everything from Tarot to selkies. I can't recommend it enough. Plus, urban legends from listeners, native sources for native stories, and drink recommendations! Spirits is absolutely amazing.

I have a listen-alike for this. The Myths and Legends podcast has much the same thorough research and sense of humor. If you like one, you are pretty much guaranteed to like the other.

This is a horror show, but it has comic elements too.
Myths and legends are what the story is based on.
Superb show - full of horror, but great.

Fascinating
I found this series on Amazon. It's a collection of stories about real historical incidents that took place that sparked the life of some of mankind's legends and myths. Very interesting and thought provoking look into our past as humans and how things(like science and beliefs) have changed over the centuries. With a watch if you are into documentaries told with actors, animation and art!

What an amazing short read. This story is about a man that saves an underwater race from being devoured by a sea serpent. So much happens in just 50 pages. There is mystery, love and adventure. A cruel king, a downtrodden boy with rights to the throne, magic shells, mystical storms and a ships captain who believes in myths and legends. I haven't done my research yet because I was so excited to let you know how amazing this read was, but I hope there's a sequel.

Highly Recommend This!!!
Drop whatever you are doing and get yourself a copy of this book asap. I've always loved Irish myths and legends and in particular, the deities and man this book left me foaming at the mouth for more.

There's so much I want to say about this captivating storyline and the many beautiful characters but I can't without revealing the many spoilers. Annie Cosby's writing style immediately transports you into this well-written story and I swear that I kept catching myself trying to imitate the dialect.

I ohed and awed throughout the entire page-turning read which kept me in its grip the entire time and when I reached the end I wanted to scream because now I have to wait until the second book!!

I LOVED it and recommend it to one and all!!!

A World Full of Animal Stories: 50 favourite animal folk tales, myths and legends by Angela McAllister is a beautiful and interesting book of folktales and legends that celebrate animals and culture. These stories are brought to life as the reader travels the globe to Africa, Asia, North and South America, Europe, Australia and Oceania.

It is a book full of cultural stories, with strong messages and wonderful illustrations. Familiar stories such as The Billy Goats Gruff, The Nightingale, and The Ugly Duckling are in the book so the reader will learn where those stories came from. In the contents guide it has each of the stories listed under the continent they belong to, with the country that relates to the story in brackets next to its title, which is useful for finding a specific story or learning about a certain region.

The stories are not long, which makes it perfect for bedtime stories. One story a night will give your child something to think and talk about. This would also would be great for the classroom, particularly when learning about different cultural stories and traditions.

I received an ARC of A World Full of Animal Stories from NetGalley via Quarto Publishing Group and Frances Lincoln Childrens.

Movie Favorite

"Kwaidan is a film like no other. Adapted from Japanese legends and myths that were collected by Irish author Lafcadio Hearn, the film is an anthology of four ghost stories. The superstitiousness of Irish culture clearly influenced Hearn’s recording of these tales, and to see these stories adapted again by a Japanese artist is fascinating. I think Kobayashi poured his soul into this project. Kwaidan, in every way, bleeds Japanese culture and identity: not a loud and obnoxious nationalistic pride, but a thoughtful and considered love and respect for its heritage. Toru Takemitsu provides an austere and haunting score using traditional Japanese instruments and warped sound effects. The majority of the film is shot on a soundstage and features strikingly, often eerily painted backdrops. This was Kobayashi’s first color project, and cinematographer Yoshio Miyajima uses light, a 2:35:1 aspect ratio, and refined camera movement to astonishing effect."
