Great beginning hook (2 more)
Keeps a good pace
Not typical vampire story
The start of a great series!!!
This is BY FAR one of my favorite book series. The authors set it up really well and give backstory and pertinent information without getting lost in flashbacks or dragging on forever. Plus I like the references to native American culture and mythology!

Ugh, it was a bit too long for my liking and I'm not too into history, so the old gods and spirits of native american culture didn't particularly interest me. Also the fact that he pretty much betrayed her at the end didn't help the rating any either. I like my stories to have a happy-ish ending and this one kinda doesn't.

I really enjoyed this book. As a lover of fairy tales and mythology, it was the premise of the main character being a half Native American coyote shifter that interested me the most. Mercy being an out of the ordinary heroine having a background in history and being mechanic was something of plus. This little coyote has what it takes to run with the big bad wolves.

Early 90s Daniel-Day Lewis starring Romantic Drama, set during the French and Indian War of 1754-'63, with Day Lewis as the adopted son of a dying native American tribe - the Mohicans of the title.
Lots of weeping panoramic shots throughout, with a rousing (and now - over three decades later - quite famous) musical score, but the film does seem to jump around quite a bit, with little really in the way of character development and, well, things just seemingly happening for no discernible reason at all!

I'm beginning to think Cassie Edwards' books just aren't for me. While I think this one has been better written (as far as I got, at least) than previous books of hers I've read, it still feels very simplistic. I don't much like the love at first sight because he/she is beautiful theme, it just doesn't work for me. I guess I like to read more originality in Native American romances; so far, all hers seem so similar to each other, and do not deviate much from one central plot.
