Only half way through but have already ordered the second one that comes out in a few months. The cover states that it is a little bit of The Golden Compass and a little bit of The Hunger Games, well if you are a fan of those type of books not forgetting the Maze then add this one to your reading list. It is classed as a book for Young Adults but if you like science fiction and fantasy then you need to read it. Set in the not too near future as technology is heading that way.

The technology on show (1 more)
Good SFX for the budget
A great Upgrade
I saw this the other night after seeing good reviews for it. I'm not sure if it got a cinema release in the UK? It's a great Australian made film. A bit like a sci-fi Deathwish mixing humans with advanced Ai technology and body enhancements. The technology shown in the film, set in the near future, is really good and not far from what is available. This made the film more interesting. Throw in some good action and SFX and you have a great film that went under the radar.

Interesting premise, writing got in the way.
I wanted to like this book. Managed to get through it in a few sittings, but it was a struggle. All but one of the women were unrelatable and shallowly formed. Frustrating that they were reduced to “titles” with their names seldom acknowledged.
Overall, it didn’t really spark any new thoughts on a complex issue, nor did it offer any resolution or new commentary about what an overturn of Roe v Wade would have on society.
Very disappointing. Not recommended.

I'd been eyeing this book for a while when it continually moved about on my Amazon "recommended" screen. The cover is eye catching and the price was good, so why not?
I didn't read the synopsis before buying so I had no idea what it was going to be about but let me tell you, I wasn't disappointed with it. It had everything I like: lots of paranormal beings, a little sprinkle of romance, a fair bit of butt kicking and an interesting storyline. Sorted!
I will definitely be continuing the series in the near future!

Ok Sci-Fi
Watched this Netflix original last night. The storyline is pretty good, set in the near future where some people have various powers but are restricted by law to use them. A group decide to use their powers to make some easy money.
Very similar to @X2: X-Men United (2003) and elements of @Chappie (2015) @Chronicle (2012) it's ok and some good action scenes but would have been better with a bigger budget for more action scenes. It slows down a fair bit in the final 3rd.
