A highly entertaining, twist filled read
When I first started this book i was a little concerned. The plot about 8 hijacked driverless cars seemed a little thin to be able to stretch over such a long 400+ page book, hug as soon as I started reading it had me hooked.

The 400+ pages flew past in record speed, I just couldn't put this book down. What seemed a fairly similar plot was filled with intriguing and well developed character, as well as some fantastic twists and reveals that I never saw coming. It also features quite a serious commentary on social media and bias and even racism, and despite being set in a society slightly more technologically advanced than our own, you can see the truth in the issues highlighted here. You can also imagine our societies becoming similar to this one in the very near future, which is a very sobering thought. This really is a highly entertaining read, and it's not often I get so enthralled in a story to not see the twists coming!

I had high hopes for this one.

I quite enjoyed [b:Ready Player One|9969571|Ready Player One|Ernest Cline|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/books/1406383612s/9969571.jpg|14863741] and it's almost-plausible-near-future setting that read a bit like a mix between Bruce Willis's movie "Surrogates" with a dash of "The Matrix" thrown in, and always like a bit of sci-fi.

Unfortunately, this fell flat for me.

I don't know whether it's because it's not as believable (and yes, I'm futher aware that I'm talking about fiction here) as [b:Ready Player One|9969571|Ready Player One|Ernest Cline|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/books/1406383612s/9969571.jpg|14863741], or because I could tell where the plot was going within the first 100 pages or so - think "The Last Starfighter" meets "Ender's Game" with a bit of "BattleStar Galactica" thrown in for good measure, but - for me - this just didn't really do it.

Tricky second novel syndrome, perhaps?

N.B.: I did pick up on the numerous real-world sci-fi references :-)

Wow. Just an incredible, near-perfect zombie movie!
I had heard a lot about this movie, I just never took the time to watch it. Man, what was I waiting for? I went in expecting a traditional zombie movie, and in a way, that's what I got. But this film is so much more. The acting is very girl (seriously, can that little girl stop tearing my heart apart?). The characters are full and you care about each of them. Some you love. Some you despise with every fiber of your being. The world feels real and functional. There really never was a dull moment. The movie grips you early and leaves you an emotional wreck after its thrilling climax.
I feel like any words I could write cannot relay how much I enjoyed this movie, and look forward to any future stories from this world that may be on the horizon. If you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a favor. Don't wait and watch it now.
