Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Sweep in Peace (Innkeeper Chronicles, #2) in Books
Jan 7, 2021
This one was longer. Dina is asked to host a peace summit between three warring factions who live on Nexus, a planet of sorts. They have been at each others throats for years and the Arbitrator, George, is finally hoping that they can work things out.
We see a lot of the same characters from the previous one but I was missing a certain someone quite a lot - Sean. Dina contacted him near the start but Sean was away from Baha-Char and we didn't see him for a lot of the book.
The peace summit turned out really well in the end but everyone had to go through quite a lot to get there. We had deceit, poisonings, deaths... It certainly wasn't easy to achieve and I won't spoil it for future readers by going into details.
I'm glad Sean's back on Earth and that we will possibly see their romance bloom properly in the next one.
Off to start book 3.
Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy #1) in Books
Jan 8, 2021
It started off quite good, we were thrown straight into the action and I was excited to see where it would all lead.
Evie was kinda fun, she was rather innocent though having lived in the agency building since she was eight and in a way it fun seeing her in a school setting though her fashion sense and love of pink was a bit OTT.
I love Lend--dodgy name but I totally get it. He had my attention from early on and I loved reading the slow progression of his relationship with Evie.
Reth, I'm not too sure about; sometimes he seemed alright and others I wanted to punch him in the face.
I'm not normally a fan of books involving the fae but I liked this. It was different since it involved all different types of paranormal creature/being and wasn't too engrossed in the courts and the ways of the fae.
I am definitely intrigued as to what else will happen in this series and will be continuing it at some point in the near future.

LeftSideCut (3776 KP) rated Venom (2018) in Movies
Jul 11, 2019
It's a pretty by the numbers origin film, that veers fairly sharply from the comics due to there being zero Spider-Man.
If you've seen the trailer, then you know the plot. There are no surprises (with the exception of an extremely on the nose tease for future installments near the end).
No one in the cast seems to be too bothered that they are there either, with the exception of Tom Hardy, who does a pretty sterling job of playing Eddie Brock - the dialogue between him and Venom is pretty entertaining throughout.
Surprising absolutely no one, the films climaxes in a CGI heavy face off, with both parties being dark grey in colour - making for a pretty bland showdown.
Venoms ok, worth a watch, even if it's just the one time - the Marvel nerd in me just really wishes that these characters were under the same MCU umbrella (one day... One day)
