Need For Speed Payback doesn’t really set the genre alight, but it’s the closest we’re likely to get to a new Burnout game. It’s fun to play; mixing various racing events with the explosive set pieces of its proper story missions

Huge driving area to explore
Excellent cops VS racers game
The most enjoyable Need for Speed yet. Builds on the best bits of the Most Wanted game. Great fun online teaming up to bust racers. Plenty of offline challenges as well.

Big map
Great soundtrack
A great racing game
The first Need for Speed game I remember playing on the old Xbox. Quite different at the time as you had a fair bit of free roam to do your own thing. The customisation was very good to give your car different looks. You could pose it in a photo mode to make the cover of a car mag in the game.
Along with a great soundtrack with some big tunes it also had voice acting by Kelly Brook and Brooke Burke as well.
Definitely one of the best early Need for Speed games.

"I feel the need. The need... for speed!"
"This is what in call a target rich environment"
"Son, your ego is writing cheques your body can't cash"
1980s action classic (that I was all of 7 when it was released) starring a then up and coming (and young!) Tom Cruise as Maverick, the hotshot pilot who gets a shot at Top Gun: the military training school for the top 1% of naval pilots.
This has a great cast (Michael Ironside, Val Kilmer, Kelly McGillis, Tom Cruise himself) alongside some great aerial battles, but does drag in bits.

Surprisingly complex
A quick little game where you take a card from either the supply or the deck, then you either play a card or take your discard pile into your hand. Surprisingly complex with the scoring as each card has its own scoring conditions, so it pays to focus and understand what you need. Plays quick and tactics do matter. Hard for an overall strategy due to its speed and small package. Overall a good game for quick jaunts, but not one to play over and over again

Slow start but pretty good once it gets going...
The game, which is some-what derivative, takes a long time to get going, forcing the player to read and barely participate in the action for nearly an hour!
But, once to you're in, the gameplay is pretty solid for this type of game.
The major issue here though, is that opening. You need a lot of patience and since this game is 3+, it failed to engage my 8 year old daughter, stretching her attention span to breaking point.
Definitely needs to speed things up but once in, the game does what says on the tin.
