I am enjoying the books more than the tv series. I find myself getting frustrated at Clary,Jace and Simon even without knowing some of the outcome. I love having a visual reference for the characters taken from both the TV series and the film to fit in as im reading. Highly recommend the books I find them a lot better than both film and TV. Former NYPD cop Nic and her husband Nigel are in New York for Christmas and to celebrate his cousin’s 25th birthday. Only Audrey’s husband Leo has disappeared, and she is threatening to not attend her own party if he isn’t found. Nic is asked by the family to track down Leo, and soon she is back in contact with her contacts on the shady side of the law. A dead body and learning just what kind of man Leo is make Nic wonder if Audrey would be better off without her husband. But where is he?

This book is a wonderful tribute to The Thin Man, and fans of Hammett’s classic book or the films will love it. However, even if you aren’t familiar with them, you’ll still absolutely love this book. The plot is well constructed with plenty of twists and surprises. The characters are all strong. And there are tons of laughs, be they from Nic and Nigel’s new dog or the banter between the characters. Pick this book up today.

WOW! If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I totally would.

First, thanks to St. Martins Press for sending me an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.

Second, I loved, loved, loved this book! I first started reading Jeffrey Archer's book in the early 90s when my husband introduced me to the Kane and Abel series. After reading that series, I was hooked on his writing style and the stories. I've read pretty much every single one of them. This one was one of his best. If you read the Clifton Chronicles, you may remember that Harry Clifton is a writer and he "wrote" "Heads You Win". This book, like all of his others, get you hooked almost immediately and don't stop until the last word. This tells the story of Alex and his mother, Elena. They escape Leningrad by flipping a coin to determine whether they head to London or New York. Upon their arrival (I'm not divulging where they end up), the story continues playing out their lives in their new home.

Fabulous book....down to the last sentence.

I loved this book! I put off reading it for ages because I struggled to get through the battle of the labyrinth, but once I picked up the last Olympian, I couldn’t put it down. I loved all the action, the fighting between Percy and Kronos. It was amazing getting to see more of everyone’s past, especially Luke and Annabeth’s. Seeing the demigods speak to their godly parents was so new and a wonderful thing to see. I have to say that my favourite part of the book was the humour. Even in the middle of an epic battle with the Titan lord someone would find something funny to say or Percy would come up with a comedic anecdote. I can’t wait to start reading the Heroes of Olympus series!
