Kate Beckinsale with her sarcastic blunt quips does make it fairly enjoyable and the supporting cast is pretty decent. OK for a watch but not one to go out of your way to catch.
Why try to Americanise the location as well? European cars, English street signs and scenes shot on the Southbank and quite a few using the Tate Modern location for the villians pad. A couple of fire hydrants, yellow taxis and a school bus to make it look set in New York seem pointless.

KyleQ (267 KP) rated A thousand and One (2023) in Movies

The acting is what carries the film the most. Everyone is fantastic. Grade-A performances.
The simple sets are well designed, and watching as their home evolves provides a brilliant layer to this film.
The brief moments of background narration showcasing the changing city as we progress through time was brilliant.
I only minus one star because I felt that the ending wasn't very satisfying, like the Director couldn't decide on whether the finale should be optimistic or not, so they opted for an anti-ending.
But I definitely recommend everyone give A Thousand and One a watch.

David McK (3587 KP) rated Daredevil: Born Again in TV
Apr 21, 2025 (Updated Apr 21, 2025)
But not as brutal as the original Daredevil Netflix-era shows from which it follows on.
Daredevil was, I believe, the first of those Netflix-era shows (followed by Jessica Jones, then Luke Cage, the Punisher, Iron Fist and The Defenders), before they disappeared off that platform following the introduction of Disney+ and seemed to be in hibernation.
Until Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock turned up in "Spider-man: No Way Home" ("I'm a really good lawyer), hinting towards his other persona before also appearing in Disney Plus's "She-Hulk" and having a cameo in "Echo".
Vincent D'Onforia's Kingpin, for his part, appeared in both "Hawkeye" and "Echo".
But this, I believe, is the first time the two of them have shared a screen since the Netflix era, with - here - both seemingly haven given up their old ways until becomes mayor of New York ...
