Surprisingly, Nick Nolte. (0 more)
This wasn't bad at all, in my opinion. More of the same as the first two films - that is to say, a big action movie with lots going on. Was the plot semi-ridiculous? Sure, although the plot point that had Gerard Butler's aging Mike Banning popping pills and receiving ominous warnings from his doctor about his physical condition seemed very apropos (art imitating life, perhaps?). I pretty much got exactly what I expected to get from this movie: a decent action movie for a Friday night date-night-on-the-couch.

The hidden jewel of this film for me was Nick Nolte as Banning's estranged father - believable and relatable, and he had some truly great lines.

Tom Hardy at his finest
Tom Hardy and Egerton are on unbelievable form in this movie with Tom Hardy putting in possibly the performance of his career.

If you watch that final fight and don’t go through almost every emotion possible then I question that you may be a robot...

"I think 48 Hrs. is the perfect tough, funny buddy movie. I think Eddie Murphy exploded off of it — he was on Saturday Night Live, but…in his intro when he’s singing “Roxanne,” and going to the hillbilly bar, and Nick Nolte being such a hilarious, racist prick. I loved it. “Sorry about the watermelon joke.”"

Let's go to war!
I'm always weary of sporting films especially a new boxing or in this case MMA film but Warrior is a cut above the rest. As stated above, the best part of the film is Hardy, Edgerton and Nolte, their characters have such depth and all have a personal and tragic obstacle to tackle. I found the filming and the setting of the Burgh (Pittsburgh) to be a perfect touch. The films is emotional in multiple places and this is heightened by a excellently selected soundtrack from The National. One to watch again and again. Love it.
