"When Wes Anderson asked me to provide incidental narration to his film about the Tenenbaum tribe, I honestly could not make out what the film was about. It turned out to be a Wes Anderson film, which, in my mind, is the New Yorker magazine’s cartoon staff meets Jules Feiffer meets Preston Sturges. Or, perhaps, none of that. The Royal Tenenbaums, at the time of its release, was arguably one of the most original movies, in tone and style, since Robert Altman’s M*A*S*H. The cast is pitch-perfect, and the film features Gene Hackman’s greatest work. (I know. That’s saying a lot. But it’s true.) Anderson and Owen Wilson were nominated for best original screenplay at the Oscars in 2002. With cinematography by the remarkable Robert Yeoman (Drugstore Cowboy, The Squid and the Whale)."

I adored this book, I have always loved the concept of "what if's" I love thinking about the several different ways one persons life could take, if they had just made a slightly different choice. So this book was my kind of thing straight from the get go. It explores some of the outcomes of Eva and Jim, none are the same apart from one thing, I won't spoil it for you but I am sure you can guess. This book is beautifully written, so on point and it brings each chapter to you with such passion. If I hadn't of been so completely fixated on this story I feel that it would have been hard to follow but I didn't have a problem with this as I was a little bit obsessed and still am. Absolutely beautiful book.

Dire and predictable script. (0 more)
Mediocre and lumbering action movie.
This has Gerard Butler too old/out of shape to be a credible presidential protection officer. None of the style of Clint Eastwood's "In the Line of Fire" which had a similar story. As a plus point, it didn’t have the distasteful xenophobia of “London Has Fallen” (which I rather generously gave a 3/10). So I feel I should at least top that. But again I feel I’m being generous. It’s all crushingly mediocre, and if I can remember any of it after three months, I’ll be very unlucky indeed!
