Doubt there will be an anniversary tour for this album
A great introduction for an amazing progressive metal band.
This album solidified my love for this group of artists hailing from Raleigh, North Carolina. Overall this is my second favorite album from this band.

Kristy H (1252 KP) rated Winter's Child (Deborah Knott Mysteries, #12) in Books
Feb 13, 2018
The latest (as of mid-2007) in Margaret Maron's enjoyable Deborah Knotts series.
Now married, Deborah and Dwight face several challenges, including a murder Dwight must investigate in their small North Carolina town. While involved in that investigation, the pair find out that Dwight's ex-wife, Jonna (mother of his young son Cal) has gone missing. Dwight -- and eventually Deborah -- must travel to his ex-wife's hometown to search for Jonna, and soon, Cal as well.
Very enjoyable and suspenseful novel.

Whatchareadin (174 KP) rated No One Is Coming To Save Us in Books
Apr 9, 2019
No One Is Coming to Save Us is a hard book to explain. Set in North Carolina it follows the life of 5 people who are related and not related.
First there is Ava who is desperate to have a child, but she barely sees her husband Henry and she has had too many miscarriages to count.
Then there is Sylvia, Ava's mother who is the stereotypical black mother, in everyone's business and determined to get the best for her child.
Up next is Jay Jay who used to live in the same small town. At the first opportunity he moved away from the small town, but now he is back and wants to win back Ava's affection.
Henry, is Ava's husband and he hasn't done right by her and when she finds out, all bets are off.
Don, is Sylvia's husband, but they haven't lived together since Ava was a little girl.
All of these people are living their lives in small town North Carolina. There really wasn't much of a climax or anything to look forward to in this book. It was a disappointment for me.

Russ Troutt (291 KP) rated The Best of Enemies (2019) in Movies
Jul 5, 2019
With another 4th of July in the books, I can't help but think about people in today's world still having to fight for different freedoms and rights. One fight, or charette rather, to end school segregation took place in North Carolina in 1971 that brought together the best of enemies and the unlikeliest of friends, a black activist Ann Atwater and a KKK leader C.P. Ellis. Best of Enemies is a really good movie with a wonderful cast that tells this particular story beautifully. Here's to love always triumphing over ignorant hate.
Kristy H (1252 KP) rated Bootlegger's Daughter (Deborah Knott Mysteries, #1) in Books
Feb 13, 2018
Not a classic, but certainly an enjoyable mystery novel. First in a rather large series (up to 12 books now, I think) featuring Deborah Knott. Deborah, the so-called bootlegger's daughter, is an attorney in a small North Carolina town. As often happens in such series, crime seems to follow her wherever she goes. In this book, she looks to solve a cold case murder that occurred when she was very young... and her investigation leads to several more deaths.
Margaret Maron's books are quite engaging and fun-to-read... I blew through this book in a few days.

Erika Kehlet (21 KP) rated Purr M for Murder (Cat Rescue Mystery, #1) in Books
Feb 21, 2018
Sydney returns home to North Carolina to help plan an even intended to keep the animal shelter where her sister Kat works afloat. A local bully threatens to do whatever it takes to stop the event, and Kat yells at him that it will be the last thing he will ever do. Since he is found dead not long after, Kat becomes suspect number one, and Sydney goes to work to prove her sisters innocence. This well-paced mystery kept me in the dark right up to the end. Purr M for MURDER is the first in what looks to be a great new series.
