I'm not normally a fan of reading a series back to back as i get a little bored of the same characters but this series has been the exception to that rule...at least up until this book. i struggled to get into this one. It could have been the above mentioned thing or it could have been the fact that after four books Heller and Tilly are actually together (kind of) and the thrill of the will they/won't they thing they had going on has now disappeared.

Don't get me wrong, i still really like this series and will be continuing it at some point but not quite yet. Maybe when book 7 gets released?

More twisted dark comedy
Series 2 follows on but has a very different feel to the first series. Some of the weirder out of context scenes from series 1 are explained here, and some truly twisted characters and storylines are introduced. Not quite as self-contained as the first series, but I presume this was due to being committed for longer so having the chance to expand and leave viewers hanging.

The whole series, what were they thinking? (0 more)
This is not Resident Evil
It still amazes me despite how many films, animations and now a series that they can't recreate the feel and vibe of the game series.
Decided to check this out despite hearing how bad it was. This is very far from Resident Evil you know from the games. Wesker is very different which just begs the question why? Other than a few creatures brief appearance from the games this may as well have a different title. The Zombies, now called Zeroes, again why? Don't even look like zombies. The story is rather daft, the whole thing is disappointing. Save your time you are not missing out by skipping this.

I created a video explaining my slow decent into hating this series, book by book, for your viewing pleasure:

Had this series been clearly well thought out- you know, like not following a template, the characters not changing at a moments notice, and the story not being varying degrees of ridiculous- I might have congratulated this book on its willingness to put itself out there and not answer the questions it built up to through this series. I would have comended it for being strong enough to end a story like this, and teaching readers that you don't always get what you want, or a happy ending for that matter.

But this story, though all of its books, has components of the list above. They each follow the same template, the characters change personality whenever it is needed, and the plot is all over the place in tone. So no, I will not congratulate this story for ending this way. I can see what he might've been going for, but with the story up until now, it made this last book feel more like a cop out.

So yea, this is over.

This is the second part in this series by this author. After reading the first book, I couldn't wait for this book and it did not disappoint one bit. This book is a story of pain, fear and love. The characters are still as amazing as in the first book. The secondary characters brought so much to this story. Another fantastic read by this amazing author. I can't wait to read more from them in the future.
Highly recommended series

My absolute favourite series at the moment! Despite the dystopian setting it is scary how real the problems portrayed can seem and how possible the world feels! This is the only time I will probably ever say this but I much prefer the TV series than the book, not to say it’s a bad book, but that the show is that’s good!
