Drags on
First episode you think oh my world this is going to be an amazing series, then you think ok it's slowing down which is normal not every series can be packed full of drama. I found myself really looking forward to finishing it. Not because it was so amazing but because I wanted a bit more drama.

I'm not sure why I had this on my want to read shelf, because I've read the series before. I really like this series. Patch is just so 😍😍😍. But Nora is kind of dull. Honestly though the series is worth reading. Her best friend gets on my nerves though.
I read all of the books super quickly. I really like them. I went and bought them. I originally read them at the library.

I was entranced by the cover of this a long time before I realised it was part of the Hearts series. I'd not long since finished the first book which I loved, and I couldn't wait to read more books in this series, and it was only after I'd bought this that I realised it was Jack's story.
I did enjoy this, just not as much as the first. Jay just fascinated me with his magic and the whole back story and everything just blew my mind. This one, Jack seemed hot and sexy and the fire-breathing...but it didn't grab me as much. I wasn't as sucked into the story.
The description for the third book in the series has me intrigued as to what King's story will be about and I've already got it on my kindle to read but I'm not going to read it yet.

Huh...that ending
Are you really that bothered, Woods? I'm certainly not.
I read the first two books in this series (Rosemary Beach) years ago and never got around to finishing it, but admittedly I wasn't too bothered about that. But the chance to read a different story of the group of friends? Sure, why not?
I have enjoyed this but I could quite happily leave it at the one book because that ending? As mentioned above, I'm not that bothered about the news about his dad. But I do have the second book in this mini series so I guess I should read it soon.

I created a video explaining my slow decent into hating this series, for your viewing pleasure:
However, my short and sweet review of this book is as such. I thought this book was a good start to a series. Yes, I found Lemony Snicket to be irritating, especially with him jokingly defining words every few paragraphs, but I was able to find this book charming enough to move onto the next one... Because I hadn't gotten annoyed yet. I probably remember this book fondly only because it was the first book, and not the sixth book in a series that was exactly like the first book, or the ninth, or the eleventh. This book was short and pleasant, as this series should have been.

This is a wonderful little novel. If you have never read the Benny Griessel series, which I had not, it provides a nice introduction to the characters and their backgrounds without delving in too deep as to take away from their current case. It did not leave he completely lost as some other books, which are part of a series, but it did make me want to know more about these characters and read the rest of the series. The particular case in this novella is worthy of the best detective novels and provides all the mystery, intrigue and unexpected ending we, as readers, love and desire. I can’t wait to read the rest of the Benny Griessel series!

I don't know anything about this series, so maybe it's an anime that makes more sense. However, as manga, only in the first volume, it's jumpy and confusing. It seems like it's written, assuming that the reader already knows about the world that the characters have been sent to. For me, it was confusing with not enough explanation at times. On a side note, this series is NOT for younger readers. There is a little nudity and some adult situations in it.

Great Spin off
This book is the first in a spin off series. The original series is "The Iron Fey" and the events from it are closely related to this story. The reader was first introduced to the main character Ethan during the iron fey series. He is now much older, and his perspective is a lot different.
I enjoyed seeing the characters I loved from the main series. The book was balanced really well where the new characters were never over shadowed, and I became just as invested in there story. This book should only be read after the original series. If not I do think the reader may have trouble understanding some of the events.
