Katey Bassett (610 KP) rated When She Woke in Books

Hands down I wish I had not waited so long to read this book. It's been a long time since I've finished a book and said YES! That was great. I highly recommend this book, it reminded me a little of Perfect/Flawed series by Ahern.
TravelersWife4Life (31 KP) rated No Filter (Barks & Beans Cafe Cozy Mystery #1) in Books

No Filter by Heather Day Gilbert
This was a nice laid-back mystery. I do not often read cozy mysteries as they do not seem real to me, however, after reading the synopsis for this one I was intrigued! I mean who does not like dogs or coffee? This is the first book in Heather Day Gilbert’s new Barks & Beans series, and I am already hooked.
I enjoyed this book from beginning to end, the way the story unfolded was believable and interesting. I liked the characters and getting a glimpse into their lives that I am sure will continue in the next book. They were people I can see myself being friends with. I am looking forward to reading the second book in this series to see what comes next

Kevin_hoskinson (9 KP) rated Thor: Ragnarok (2017) in Movies

Such a fun movie!
Thor is reinvigorated with “Thor: Ragnarok”. After a not so stellar second solo movie, this is a welcome addition to not only the series of Thor movies, but Marvel movies as a whole. It looks great and the tone is so much fun. We see a very different side to the god of thunder in Ragnarok. With some help from his fellow revengers, this is a can not miss film.
Dean (6927 KP) rated The X Files: I Want to Believe (2008) in Movies

Not got the X factor
I was a big fan of the TV series but missed some of the last two series. This is definitely set after the end of the last series, both agents are now doing other work and are no longer in the FBI, until they called upon to help with an X file type case. This could be viewed as a stand alone film on it's own if you never saw any of the TV series (Really?!) However it just plays more like an extended episode and not really the type of story line the fans want to see in a X files film. It's ok but wont satisfy fans that loved the show so much.
Obsessed book reviews (49 KP) rated Requiem in Books

This is the third and final book in the series. This is a fantastic conclusion to the whole set. These books can not be read stand alone reads, they need to be read in order. Once again this author does not disappoint with this book. This book has amazing characters, you will just fall in love with from the start. I cant wait to read more from this author in the future.

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Dark Frost (Mythos Academy, #3) in Books

3.5 stars.
Still not my favourite series going but it's a quick and easy read with an interesting story arc running through the series with added little plotlines in each story such as who's going to be a reaper, Gwen searching for missing/stolen items and such.
The progression of Gwen and Logan's relationship (finally!) in this one had me smiling and wanting to cheer along with their friends at the end. It's about time guys!
I will be continuing the series at some point in the future but not yet.

Story
Ok, but not the most thrilling.
As a huge fan of John le Carré, and have enjoyed many other film/TV adaptations of his work, I couldn't wait for this one!
Unfortunately, on screen it felt particularly dull. Series like The Night Manager, and even the early TV adaptations featuring Sir Alec Guinness, this series failed to capture the mix of excitement and suspense the book provides.
