How do I even begin to review one of Aleatha's books?! I can't wait for the next book the moment I've begun and the end always comes too soon!? Deception is book three in the five-book Infidelity series. This book, like the previous two, kept me on edge from page one. Not only do I love that she gives you a glimpse back into the prior books in the beginning (which is great for someone like me who has probably read hundreds since reading Cunning and needs the reminder of where we last left off) but she gives you just enough to hang onto before leaving your heart on the floor after a cliffhanger ending!? And I love every minute of it ;-) After where they started, Nox and Charli's relationship has grown into something more spectacular than you could imagine and I loved seeing them in this next phase. Beautiful moments, hot sex scenes and plenty of added drama and action. Her books are everything, so much more than just a love story... HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended and as usual, I CAN NOT wait for book #4 so she can do it to me all over again!?

AS whole I really enjoyed fanstic beast crime against Grindlewald. Newt is a throughly delightful charcter and so loveable. Jacob is easy to releate to as well my problems with this film all happen in it around Hogwarts.

First of all Mcgonall isn't born till 1935 she tells Uxbridge in goblet if fire book she started teaching in Hogwarts in 1956 so what she doing alive and an adult in 1927.

The whomping Willow was suppose to be planted in Hogwarts for lupin in 1971 so how did Newt find Pickett in it during a flashback putting the tree there around 1918

Dumbledore always taught transfigruation not DADA obviously this rewrite is covered by the whole you can no longer teach DADA but as we saw in the HP series only the headmaster has that power not Aurors

Finally I know it dramatic effect make it look cooler to appeared onto to middle of the bridge but as we saw in deathly Hallows apperation line isn't middle of bridge it hogemeeade

Not so very long ago I reviewed the first of James' fairy tales series, A Kiss at Midnight, which I found OK, but not one to hang on to and read again, and I said that I always thought I should like her books more than I actually do. I have to say that it was almost as if someone was listening, as I liked this book a whole lot better. There is only a thematic connection with the other books; there don't appear to be any characters in common.

I liked this book as the two protagonists had personality and you could see what they would see in each other, which I found hard in the last book. The whole set up was maybe a bit far fetched, but it was quite an amusing tale - with a fair sprinkling of strong language. I smiled when the heroine had been reading Miss Butterworth & the Mad Baron - as I'm sure many readers of Julia Quinn will! A much more engaging and entertaining read, good protagonists and interesting supporting characters, giving enough interest but without detracting from the main plot.

Donuts and Disaster - other than making me feel extremely peckish throughout I surprised myself by enjoying this short book. I was having a spout of 'I want to read, but nothing is holding onto my interest' when I found this on my #tbr shelf. It's number 4 of a series of Sandy Bay Cozy Mysterys. Meghan runs a bakery and finds herself (yet again apparently) tangled up with a murder. The story was quick paced and a lot happened in a short space of time. If I were to offer a criticism I would say that the murder should happen sooner for such a short book. The murder did not happen until half way through, which means there was only a little time in the short book for it to be solved. But as a quick and easy read after a long day at work - definitely a winner. I like that you can read it as a standalone and not need to know what happened in the previous books. The discovery of a killer disappointed me a little as very little investigative work went into it - I was expecting more Jessica Fletcher than accidental confession/discovery.

As a fan of rpg games ive heard alot about the witcher series so i was excited to get into this game. Storywise i thoroughly enjoyed it, i love the alternative choices you can make and how that affects gameplay later on. Having completed the game once im currently attempting to play through on "dark mode" which i would not recommend as it is exasperatingly difficult. Mainly just because geralt responds so slowly to commands. I enjoyed the scenery in the game and the progression through the different chapters has lots of areas to explore. If you do only the main missions you could complete the game moderately quickly but fortunately there are lots of side quests and interesting things to find. I would probably enjoy the game more if it allowed me to travel back to places previous and had a fast travel system but as it is, was a great piece of work and i look forward to playing through number 3. Not sure if the choices made in this game affect how the story plays in the wild hunt but i hope so.

Will Alene Get Charred During the Pandemic’s Early Days?
This book opens in May 2020 and finds Alene Baron trying to keep her café in Chicago opened with a reduced staff and takeout or delivery only. Things are complicated when her long lost uncle returns to town and wants to connect with his brother, Alene’s father. Oh, and there are bodies turning up in burned out buildings owned by Alene’s best friend’s husband.

Since this is the third book in the series, I like the characters. That helped me get on board with the story that is truly the main story in the book, not the mystery that you’d expect in a culinary cozy. While I enjoyed the real main story, that backwards emphasis bothered me, especially how the story of the burned out buildings was resolved. I’m not sure I was ready to read a book set during the pandemic, but the book does a good job of capturing how everyone was feeling about life then. However, it introduces the riots before the event that triggered them happened in real life. The end result was only average.

Last Stand ( Black Mage book 4)
By Rachel E Carter
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

He's the Black Mage and she's the traitor to the Crown.

Ryiah's world was shattered the night she discovered King Blayne's nefarious plans. Now, she has to betray the one she loves most in order to save the realm from war. Torn between love and duty, Ry finds herself on a perilous mission to help the rebels and convince the kingdom of Pythus not to honor its pact with the corrupt king of Jerar - all the while deceiving the most powerful mage in the realm, the very man sworn to protect the Crown and hunt the rebels at all costs: her husband.

She's one step ahead, but sooner or later the curtain will fall.

Sooner or later, she'll have to fight.

This was so good and the perfect follow on and final book in this series. After such an emotional rollercoaster I’m sad to see it come to an end. If I had one slight moan was that I just found a few bits drawn out.
Not sure I’d still be around after such a betrayal though!
