Lindsay (1807 KP) rated Do You Like Trains? in Books
Jan 30, 2020
This book is interesting in the way the cover art. It a curious cover in a way that makes me want to pick it up and read it. I know from the title of the book what it about. The author does a wonderfully good job bringing in the reader.
I was curious about what the two animals were going about it. Though it looks like one friend is trying to explain about trains to a new friend. This seems apparent. In a way, he keeps it up to convince the friend of the raccoon. In a way that is not mean or annoying.
The picture is done well. They are cute and enjoyable. I could see the squire talk and express this love of trains. The way it ends makes me think he loves talking about trains. If you love trains he might want to teach his new friend all about them.
Parents and children will love this book “Do You Like Trains?”. It is good for teaching and learning about trains. It good train lovers and children that love trains. Children will love this book in the sense that it doe have some rhyming. Parents can read this to their children. Grandparents could read this to their grandchildren.

Apr 25, 2020
I Hate, Hate, Hate This Time of Day, is a book about an elephant that does not like going to bed. Know any children that are like that. I am sure you do. We all have either gone through it or done it ourselves.
Well, this book focuses on that time of day. This is a good bedtime story. It creates a routine for Edgar with his mom. Though Edgar seems to think that playing and having fun is best. Though can you make it fun to get ready to go to bed.
The author does this quite well. I love the pictures. It easy to read. I love Edgar's response each time his more asks. Children just love to play and have fun. Maybe this book will help with bedtime.

Dec 11, 2020
The Berenstain Bears and the Joy of Giving is a really good book to add to your Advent calendar. Are you struggling with your child or children with the meaning of giving rather than receiving? Well, this one does the job.
This book is a favorite of mine not cause it to deal with Christmas or the meaning of giving. I grew up with The Berenstain Bears series. I still love them. I love the meaning behind the book. It is better to give than to receive.
This tells a story through Brother and Sister Bear's eyes. This book and many in the series teaches a valuable lesson for children. I love that. The pictures are done well. There something that changes the cubs. This book is good to have on your child's bookshelves.

Lindsay (1807 KP) rated The Christmas Blanket in Books
Nov 24, 2021
Are you looking for a book that might help a child or children find the meaning of Christmas? The Christmas Blanket is a good one for children to read. The story starts with a boy named EJ who wants to see the Rockefeller tree.
The way this story signifies told is lovely. It is the view of the EJ. Does your child or children know the meaning of Christmas? The real meaning of Christmas? This book can help a child or children with this question.
The pictures are down wonderful. There is only one error I found in the ebook format, and that was that the sentence on pages 8 and 9 was on the wrong pages. Other than that, it was a pretty good read; This is why I put the rating at 4.5 Moons (stars). If you see a four-star rating, I could not put the rating at four and a half stars.
I loved the pictures. The hand-drawn images are beautiful; I enjoy looking and looking at the pictures. If I had a hard copy or print copy, I would love to reread it and hold it. I probably would read again yearly. It's a good one to do just that. Parents could make that a tradition of reading this book every year or near the holiday season.
I don't want to give away how the plot of the story and how the story ends. Parents and children will enjoy this book. It would be a great gift or even good to have on the bookshelves around the holiday season. You could even use this book in the advent calendar if you wanted to.

Lindsay (1807 KP) rated The Frights of Fiji ( Alyssa McCarthy's Magical Missions #1) in Books
Apr 9, 2020
Well, I found a book to fall into during this strange time. That book is The Frights of Figi, it quite a good book. Once you get into it. This book is about a girl that somehow attracts magic into her life. Why this happens I do not know.
Her name is Alyssa and she lives with her Uncle and cousin. When things start happening, no one believes her. She gets into trouble. Will she get save herself and friends and family. Things get more interesting one she is kidnapped by an evil wizard.
This is good for middle-grade children and ages 8 to 12 years old. The author does a really good job with the plot of the story. The characters are developed well. If you are looking for a good fantasy book for your child or children this one is good. This one as a young girl as a hero.
This is a series. It is a good one at that. Alyssa McCarthy Magical Missions. I can not wait to pick up the second book. I am wondering if her friends from the previous book are going to need to help her or if she ends up doing it herself.
