I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
Normally I love Valerie Bowman and I have a weakness for childhood friends-to-lovers stories. That being said, I was disappointed that I didnt enjoy this novel as much as I thought I would. Of course it was predictable. I could have laid out the plot for you before I even opened it. But that hasnt bothered me before. I like the main couple although I lost patience with heros stubbornness.
I cant pinpoint anything exactly wrong with this novel. I just felt underwhelmed once it ended? I love Valerie Bowman and will continue to read her novel, but this novel just didnt do it for me like she usually does.

This novel was recommended to me by an old high school friend. This is definitely not my typical book. I like the fast paced suspense/romance and I tend to stick with those novels. I'm glad that I picked up this novel.
This novel was very interesting. It's a collection of short stories narrated by death. It follow the life of a young German girl during the time of world war 2. It's told in a different way by having "Death" as the narrator.
This was a pretty quick read. It makes you think too. It's one of those novels that will make you think about the depravity of human beings and give you some hope along side of it.
All in all, it was a good novel that deals with World War II.

YA novel. The story was very good from the beginning. A Cloak that absorbs people? What? Why? How? So many questions.

It constantly fascinates my how relevant this novel is year after year. We are dangerously close to a society very similar to this one.

This was an interesting speculative history novel, it was engaging, but in the end, I didn't really feel one way or another about it.

Great visual novel. I adore Otome games. This one has one of the best stories. I cried several times in the multi play through.
