"Kierkegaard’s ironies have driven me crazy for many years, but I crave them anyway. Every time I read it, this novel as philosophy or philosophy as novel never stops producing new meanings."

Prior's second novel was more of a fantasy/fairy tale than her more reality-based first novel Read my full review here https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2014/12/20/the-scent-for-infatuation/

This is the first time that I have read this novel.

I found that this novel was very interesting and definitely different. I'm glad that my book club picked this novel. I found it very interesting.

I really could relate to the characters and I definitely understand why so many people have latched onto it.

Double meaning behind the title and word "vegetarian."
The P.O.V. switches from first-person to third-person, which feels inconsistent when pieced together as a whole novel. (*Note: Originally, the different perspectives in the book were written separately before being joined together as a novel.) (0 more)

It's a great book, the author has such a creative mind! Have you read her other books? Latest one is Human Acts. It's very different.

I have Human Acts on my desk at work. I've been a little busy lately, but I hope to pick it up and read it soon. (:

This book, published in 1978, is considered the first modern graphic novel, and it certainly helped spawn the genre. Its storytelling and depth proved this genre has always had far more potential than the fare we see today. If you’re looking for a historical fiction novel set in Paris, Edward Rutherfurd’s novel is exactly that. Plus, you’ll learn about this amazing city through the stories of six families and over seven centuries. My newest #bookreview of this sweeping novel is on my blog now! https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2019/01/18/7-centuries-and-6-families-of-paris/
