This novella could serve as an excellent taste of the Elantra series if a reader didn't want to commit to something as long as one of the novels, as it occurs before the series begins, when Kaylin is a teen, It is the tale of her first days with the Hawks, and it is wonderful. I really enjoyed it.

Fantastic!!
If you like mysteries and solving murders then this series which goes from series 1-13 is for you! The two main characters booth and bones are so different that they compliment each other and extremely funny as you see they're growing relationship. Brilliantly created from the novels by Kathy Reich's! Well done

I'd read both 'Relic' and 'Reliquary' quite a few years back, and had enjoyed them both.

Based on those two novels, I decided to give 'Mount Dragon' a shot as well. Unfortunatley, this is nowhere near as enjoyable as those other two books: I found this one to be slow, heavy going, and totally lacking in any charismatic characters.

"Waugh, along with P. G. Wodehouse, was one the greatest users of the English language. Both men just loved words and how to use them to their unusually best advantage. Anyone trying to master the English language would do well to study either one. Any of Waugh’s novels is impressive, but this one may be the best."

"You should read Dawn Powell’s novels and then read her diaries, or vice versa, it doesn’t really matter. But when you read her diaries you see what it really means to be a writer. She struggled her whole life for money. She’s constantly worrying about money, because she doesn’t have any. This is the condition of most writers."

"I was in a unique position to be influenced by this book because my parents published it when I was in my twenties (long before Marielle Heller made it into a great movie). It is the most graphic of all the graphic novels I own — and all from the point of view of a teenage girl."

"So many Batman stories and graphic novels to choose from, but I think this ranks number one — with Miller’s “The Dark Knight Returns” a close second. To civilians (non-comics fans), I describe this work as a great urban crime drama that just happens to have Batman in it. With a little Dostoyevsky mixed in — really."

"There are five books in this series and I love every one of them, but if you’re starting out, then begin with ""Mapp and Lucia,"" because it’s a vivid introduction to the characters who carry on in the other novels. A dear friend in London turned me on to Benson’s frolicking work and I’m forever grateful to her."
