Briannabrown1019 (799 KP) rated Bird Box in Books
Jun 20, 2018
Bird Box is one of the best horror novels I have ever read. I would gladly recommend to any fan of the genre. What made it so terrifying was the psychological aspect, there's so much left to the imagination, which can be a very scary place. I truly think this is the best book I've read so far this year.

I love Karin Slaughter novels and this one did not disappoint!
Her books are gripping, full of emotion and the intensity begins with the opening chapter and doesn’t let go until the end.
This is a stand alone novel and I read it in two sittings.
Thank you NetGalley for providing me with the opportunity to read and review this book.

This is one of those YA novels that I wish I'd have never paid full price for... The premise was predictable, and eye-roll inducing. The one thing I remember is how much I hated the writing.
The movie is actually better than this novel. I suggest skipping the book and just watching the movie with the kid that plays young Han Solo.

David McK (3798 KP) rated Star Wars: The Truce at Bakura in Books
Jan 30, 2019
One of the earliest official Star Wars tie-in novels, I remember reading this when it first came out in about '94.
What's interesting is how perception changes: at the time, I remember thinking it was one of the best books I'd read, but now (with time behind me) it's not quite as good as I remember. Still worth a read, though!

Ishiguro goes Gaimen
Anyone that read previous Ishiguro novels may be surprised by The Buried Giant a full blown fantasy adventure, buy my goodness is it good. The world is completely immersive as they discover why the world is forgetting everything. I just hope he carries on in this genre.

Great book
This book was amazing!!! It had so many books to read, all full length novels. It takes awhile to read it all, for me as I read quite fast it still took me 26 hours to read all of them. Best book set I have ever bought. They were all such good books, by some very good authors.
