"Along with ‘Fight Club’ by Chuck Palahniuk, here are the two novels from the end of last century which have not been overtaken as the seminal works in defining America in this century. One deals with the out-of-control greed and power lust of the 1%, the other with the lost generations of the 99% — poorer than their parents for the first time in American history. Read them together and you have the USA"

What would you think about a woman who is so secretive about her past that the only clues to it appear as her tattoos that contain only the first lines of significant novels? This is Loveday Cardew and she works at the Lost for Words Bookshop, the titular store in Stephanie Butland’s latest novel. See what I thought of this book in my review here.

Thank you so much for the lovely welcome 🥰 xxx

The kick off to a young adult line of mystery novels featuring the Brig's granddaughter Lucy Wilson, this has the set-up feel of the Sarah Jane Adventures, with a slightly more adult tone. Not much more, as these are designed to be aimed at the younger set, but feel more Doctor Who in the peril thrown at our heroine. An enjoyable read that also manages to expand the Brig-verse. Highly recommended! For more, visit www.travelingthevortex.com

for those who enjoy YA novels, this is a solid read

i read this book to try to gauge my personal opinion of John Green's writing and how much his ideas vary from book to book: reading this after The Fault in Our Stars made me give up his work. i really did try to get into his writing as such hype has surrounded it but i just think it wasn't for me

Where to start.
This book grabbed me from the first chapter. every chapter left you hanging (sign of a good author!) and brought a new question or a new mystery. although not all of the questions were answered in the first book of this exciting new trilogy, most of them were--but they were all answered in amazing, unforgettable, unexpected ways. drop your classic ideas about "demonic" novels--this book belongs on any fiction-loving adventurous reader's bookshelf!
