TIME OF YOUR LIFE had a very confusing plot and I barely managed to follow it. I have a feeling it would have worked better shot as a television show. The best part featured Xander and Dawn's dialogue, the rest was just okay, although the additions with giants, centaurs, and forest creatures are getting ridiculous and carrying BtVS a little too far away from the series I love. Also, I didn't find the artwork as pleasing to the eye as the previous graphic novels. Definitely my least favorite in season eight so far.

Everything this woman writes is gold. I am 21 years old and I love her books with a passion even though they are only meant for children. Something about the way she writes just enraptures me to the point that I must finish the book. Her novels are quick reads, but they keep you interested, even with their simplicity. There are no drastic twists in the straight forward plot and it tends to be a bit predictable. But her characters are very real in their actions, thoughts, and reactions to situations.

As far as erotica novels go, this novel is one of the worst that I have ever read. Not only was it vague in any erotic descriptions the author decided to give use, but the actually erotica content was almost absent. It was like reading a fairy tale written for adults with all the gore and vulgarity instead the sunshine and smiles, although the happy endings were present.

When I want erotica, I want erotica. If I wanted some fairy tales told for adults instead children, I would read the Grimm's Fairy Tales.

I kept wanting to look at the author's name again, to be sure I wasn't actually reading an old Heinlein novel updated with some 21st century concepts like throwaway cell phones. That's not a bad thing, depending on how far along Mr. Bain is in his own career, I suppose. I'm not really familiar with him, as I believe this is the first of his novels that I've read. In any case, it was a fun read, if a wee bit predictable to those of us who have read the master's works.

Karen Chance | 2008 | Fiction & Poetry
I enjoyed this book more than Chance's Cassie Palmer novels set in the same universe. While I think I would have twigged to some bits more quickly if I had paid more attention to the earlier trilogy, this novel does stand alone (mostly). The references you don't get aren't truly necessary to understand the characters and the plot.

I did get rather annoyed at the characters who brought pain to themselves because of making too many assumptions about people around them, but I suppose poor communication skills are very common, even in fantasy worlds.

This book captivated me. It is extremely well written. The concept is very unique. I had to sit down and figure out how I felt about the concept, it was hard to wrap my mind around it.

Every time I read a novel by David Levithan I fall more and more in love with him as an author. I am truly blessed to have found him as an author. His novels have changed my perspective of life.

I recommend this book to anyone with an open mind. This was brilliantly written and truly inspiring.

Crime drama done right!
If you love the Michael Connelly Bosch crime novels; you will love be this Amazon TV series. Michael Connelly even has a hand in producing this series, so it makes it pure from book to screen. It isn't like other crime dramas that solve themselves in an hour it takes the whole season. Which, is very refreshing! Even if you aren't familiar with the book series, you will definitely enjoy this show. It keeps your attention and doesn't just give away clues and keeps you guessing.

I love Karin Slaughter and the Will Trent novels in general but this wasn't my favourite. As an ex-police officer myself I did enjoy Amanda's and Evelyn's story as female police officers in the US in the 70's. I could see it in my minds eye and found it believable. We finally find out the truth about Trent's parents and how he ended in the care system and why Amanda sought him out to join the GBI many years later. All in all a solid story.

I enjoyed this comic having never seen any of Dana Simpson's work before.

I have not been reading graphic novels for long but I do enjoy a fun story that has been cleverly coloured and well written artwork. I liked the flow of Ozy and Millie and will be searching out further work by Dana Simpson.

The forward makes reference to this being some of Dana Simpson's early work and that newer comics have improved with time - I liked this and don't see where the improvements could be made.

Top up on hapless heroines and romance in this year's collection of eleven beautifully crafted short stories. Jojo Moyes is a skilful spinner of characters and fantasy male/female relationships and this short collection is just as satisfying as her novels. The protagonists are warm and slightly quirky which makes them endearing and memorable. If you haven't read a book for a while, short stories are just what you need to warm up your reading habits this winter. Several stories in this collection will get you hooked on Moyes light hearted take on the world
