Helen and Ollie become very smug and annoying after a while (1 more)
The fan-made jingles
There are some episodes of this podcast I really enjoyed. Questions were asked by listeners that gave really interesting or entertaining answers. However over time I found Helen and Ollie (and Martin the soundman) to become quite self-satisfied and irritating after a while and stopped listening.

A thoughtful depiction of the travails of the struggling entrepreneur. Stan and Ollie have the bright idea of buying their own boat to make their fish-selling business more profitable; buying the boat from a junkyard and renovating it themselves are possibly less bright.
The usual mixture of ritualistic tit-for-tat squabbling, spectacular catastrophes which anyone but the boys themselves can see coming, and Ollie doing those looks to camera after he's the victim of one of Stan's mistakes. The big man is definitely more sinned against than sinning in this one, as Stan manages to drop the anchor through the bottom of the boat and nearly saws his own head off; Ollie resorts to literally tying him up to avoid further accidents. No real plot worth mentioning, but joyous stuff regardless.

so freaking good!

Jumping straight in, again!
What this book is, book 3 in the series, is an abso-freaking-lutely brilliantly written, brilliantly told story, of realising what has been in front of you for 15 years, and not questioning, not once, what you really feel for your best friend.
Liam has been in love with Ollie since he was 14. His best friend, his straight MARRIED best friend. He knows he can never have him, but he cannot let go. Ollie announces hi is getting a divorce, and promptly turns to Liam for his shoulder. Not to cry on, though, Ollie just needs Liam close, as always. Making a discovery about Liam that Ollie did not know, sets off a chain reaction, and Ollie sees, really SEES Liam for the first time.
I cannot, and never will be able to, express how much I loved this book of 2 friends falling in love. Of two friends finally seeing what everyone else sees: that they are perfect for each other. I mean, this is another , ANOTHER book that I need to add to myMasterpieces shelf of McIntyre's and she keeps delivering them! I really gotta change my rules for that shelf!
It's steamy, yes, but I loved that Ollie jumped straight in, once he was aware of his feelings and, more importantly, of LIAM'S feelings about them sleeping together. I loved that Ollie didn't really question what he was feeling: he knew, KNEW that Liam was his, and now he would be in all ways, but Ollie questioned WHAT he was feeling when he touched Liam. He never felt anything like this when he touched his ex-wife, so what he was feeling for Liam had to be monumental.
It's super low angst, and it's too freaking cute, and so warm and fuzzies, its off the scale!
I loved that we got to catch up with Liam's group of friends, and the guys from books one and two. We are also introduced to Ollie's brothers, and THEY are the subject of a new series that will feature drop ins from these guys.
I might go on all day, but I'll cut myself short.
READ THE FREAKING BOOK, GUYS! Better yet, read the whole SERIES cos they are all. . .

Children seem to sometimes have a difficult time with change. Are you planning to move to a new place with a child or children? This book named "The Adventures of Molly and Ollie: Moving Day" by Sally Beale may be a book to pick up.
This book deals with changes. It seems like it deals with emotions a child or children may express. They find that maybe things will not be so different after all. Who is Ollie? You will be surprised at what he does? There seems to be a conversation between Ollie and Molly about her moving to a new house? Will Molly warm up to her new bedroom and the place she moved to?
This sweet plot deals with change and moving away. I enjoy the way the pictures remain made; They are colorful and magical. Children will enjoy the images. How does Molly get her room unpacked? You will be surprised and enjoy it. I know children will want this book to read to them and reread to them.
Parents might want to have this book on the child or children's bookshelves for fun. But will help with your child's emotions on moving and dealing with change. Meeting someone new may help with making it easier to move to a new house and town. I can not wait to read more of The adventures of Molly and Ollie. I wonder what Molly and Ollie deal with in book 2.

took a while, but excellent book!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is one of those books that I nearly dumped! NEARLY, but didn't.
Ollie said something, Shay said something, I forget who said what, but one of them said something that made the book a whole LOT more readable and I wanted to know what more. More Ollie, more Shay, just plain MORE! Cos ya'll know how greedy I am!
I loved that, when Ollie was keeping the things he found about Shay's family from Shay til certain points, he kept it from US too, and we only found it all out, just as Shay does. Loved being kept on my toes for that!
I loved that what happened to Ollie isn't immediately laid out for you and you have to piece together the clues. Again, we don't get the FULL picture til Ollie tells Shay all about it.
There is immediately attraction between the guys, yes, but it's a way WAY through the book before they actually get their sexy time, and strangely, I think I would have preferred that they did NOT have on-screen time, you know? I was loving the EMOTIONS that run rife through the book, real gut wrenching ones in places, and the sexy time, while still emotional for the guys, it kinda felt thrown in, that it was supposed to be there, just because, if you see what I mean? probably not, I'm not making much sense, I know!
Both guys have a say, in the third person, so we get all of Ollie's fear about doing this again, about being behind the camera again. We get all of Shay's growing feelings for Ollie, and we get it all from them both when the full history of Shay is revealed.
So, because it took me a while to fully engage . . .

far too stinking cute/wam and fuzzies/low angst! Loved it!

Sometimes, Ms Sayle writes dark and deadly, sometimes things are just plain weird (rhubarb!) and sometimes, they are so delightfully cute and warm and fuzzies that the world is a brighter place.
This book falls into the last category, and I bloody loved it!
Ollie and Beckett meet online, and their relationship blooms over time. But Ollie will not let Beckett see him properly. Ollie is scared that Beckett will catch one look at him and run far away. But Beckett is far deeper than Ollie thnks, and the boy just needs to give Beckett a chance to prove that. Leeson's wedding cruise is that time.
I loved that Ollie and Beck got to know each other over time, their feelings brewing for the better part of a year. It meant that when they did meet, it was more about getting Ollie to see just how much he meant to Beckett, and how much Beckett wanted to be Ollie's Daddy, if only he'd let him.
I loved that there was overlap with Denton and Vic's book, Cruising Right Into Love. This book takes place alongside that one, on the cruise.
I loved how the focus of this book was NOT about the physical side of their relationship, but more about the emotional one. There is smexy times, but I found them very much low key and fade to grey, rather than up-in-yer-face type scenes. Loved it, to be honest.
This is part of the 3rd A Little Christmas series, a multi author series. I haven't read the others, but it's not necessary to really enjoy this one.
So much love in this book, and it hits all the warm and fuzzies and too stinking cute and low angst spots and I bloody loved it!

Stan & Ollie is a beautifully produced movie and one that many fans of the comedy duo will enjoy watching as Coogan and Reilly play the lead roles with such passion that during the movie you feel as almost as if you are watching the actually Laurel & Hardy.
With the film being based more around the latter part of their career with them embarking on their final tour, we are introduced to the older Stan & Ollie, John C. Reilly looks great as Oliver Hardy throughout the movie as does Steve Coogan as Stan Laurel which all adds to the look and feel of this biopic work of wonder.
