Still the best game of its kind
This game...its one of my favourites.

Its not an action masterpiece, in fact its a little clunky at times, with a similar but inferior combat style to GTA, but it has a legitimately great atmosphere, beautifully capturing the period and the stylings.

The detective work actually requires a little thinking (Which is rare) and asks the player to make choices without too much handholding (Which is even rarer), and as the game progresses, the challenge to interrogate the more devious individuals can prove rather vexing!

The animations, and the emotions they are able to portray in a game this old, puts to shame big budget thrillers from recent years (Mass Effec Andromeda, I am looking at you!), the city design is beautiful, and the characters are played by a number of recognisable actors which add to the big budget feel that runs all through this game.

Is the remaster an improvement on the 360 game? A little, higher resolution, parred up for Xbox one, but essentially its the same as it ever was, and that is fine.

There is still not a single game I have come across which has done the detective game as well as this, and it is a crying shame that the technology and effort used to create LA Noire has essentially been lost, since even now, manakin faced characters are still the norm.

This game still has a lot to offer, if you can look past the action sequences, and instead enjoy the characters, peformances, and genuine puzzle solving aspects of this classic title.

wonderful read!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

The Eleutians are a dying race, their female number has dropped so low, there are few children born anymore. So the Alchemic Clan devise a scheme to take women from the alternate universes they have discovered. Kit is one such woman. After falling down, she wakes up in a place she doesn't know, in a body she doesn't remember having. Rafe, of the Wolf Clan, finds Kit and makes her his. But there are bigger forces at work here, and Kit makes the difficult decision to walk away from Race, even though the thought kills her inside.

Different!! Very good different too.

A bit paranormal, a bit magic, a bit sci fi too. Quite a tricky one to tag outright.

There is, quite clearly, a much MUCH bigger picture to this story, and sometimes, it's so bloody hard to see it! Everyone has a say, Rafe and Kit mostly, but some others who really do need that voice to give you a bit of that bigger picture, for things to mostly make sense.

I did get a bit lost sometimes, though, in the world as a whole, and the people in it.

BUT!!!

A very well written, well delivered tale that I would love to follow up on, since the book is labelled as a saga, there will be more to come. How many?? I don't know, but I suspect at least 2 more, to include Kit's sisters. Couple of hints to other pairings, that may or may not be wishful thinking on my part, but we can only wait and see!

A good solid 4 star read

In a world divided between Humans and Others—a breed of shifters—certain rules are set that cannot be broken. Yet, between these two worlds are the strays, outcasts who no longer have a place in the world of Others. Cathy and Jeff, a couple long cast aside, run a free clinic for those Society has rejected. They seek to do what is right and help those who find themselves out in the cold, alone and forsaken, as they once were.

What happens, however, when the shifter who saved their lives calls to collect the debt he is owed? A pregnant shifter is coming their way, and not only must they help deliver the baby, but they need to commit the most heinous crime that could be perpetrated against two young parents. Cathy and Jeff must steal their newborn baby.

The choice is theirs, but the wrong decision could mean the life they have fought years to build for themselves being snatched away by the very one who helped give it to them in the first place. Powerful in the world of shifters, he is a force to be reckoned with.

Do they choose to save their own lives, or do they sacrifice themselves for the life of an illegitimate child?

That was the most heartbreaking 10 chapters of any book I’ve read this year! This series is just getting better with every book. I just don’t know how they can get over losing the baby and Stephen has fine lost the plot! I for one wanted to strangle Malcom even if I kinda get his motives! Once again this book shows how horrid humans can be too.
