"Everybody ends up dead or insane-slash-arrested. Nancy Olson is dismissed to wed Jack Webb — the real off-screen horror ending. Every performance is outlandish, as big as anything on any Mexican soap opera. The dead monkey. Buster Keaton. The fun never ends. The best noir comedy, ever."

Predictable and very "soap opera" in nature. (0 more)
Enjoyable, but "fluffy"
This is an enjoyable series that I've watched start to finish more then once. It's something that's serious enough to keep me interested but fluffy enough that you can't take things too seriously.

Normally, some novels start out slow and get better and more engaging from there. Unfortunately, with this book, it went the other way around. While the beginning was thrilling and gripping, the plot became progressively more disjointed and the dialogue was soap opera-like. The premise, however, is relevant and interesting.

Not the worst book I've ever read, but not the best either.

Early sci-fi (as opposed to space opera), suffering a bit from the inadequacies of that genre in that sometimes one-dimensional characters are suddenly introduced simply to move the plot along, then seem forgotten about once that event is resolved.
