Fun novel for all ages
What we have here is a well told origin story which does a good job of getting readers wanting more. We have the story of Harry Potter who live with his aunt and uncle. He is treated badly. One day he discovers he has magical powers and is invited to study at Hogwarts school of magic. There he learns about his parents and his past with an evil wizard. This is a great start to an adventure.

Hilarious
I've always loved how undeniably awkward Paul Rudd can be. His ability to deliver lines as dry as burnt toast is what made this movie for me. This origin story, perfectly captured Scott Lang and how he became a superhero. An excellent introduction of Ant-Man.

Dark, intense, dramatic. A career defining performance by Joaquin Phoenix. A tourdeforce script with dynamic direction. A skilled cast keep your eyes glued to the screen. Great! (1 more)
It's a slow burner, but even during those 'look away' moments - you can't!! It sets up Joker's origin story perfectly.
No Joke!

Another unnecessary origin film
I have to be honest, I've never been a fan of the Conjuring or Annabelle type films so there was no real interest in watching this film other than it's one of the latest releases on Sky Cinema. And to be frank, after seeing it I'm still completely disinterested.
The film really isnt scary, and relies on obvious jump scares that are ridiculously predictable. The story itself is meh and gets so silly in parts that I didnt have a clue what was going on. I mean blood of christ, really? And then theres the effects which are pretty poor in some scenes, to the point where the nun doesn't look scary and instead looks laughable. With many origin/prequel films they're telling us a backstory of a character that we didnt need to know and this is true of the nun. Do we really benefit from a origin story about the nun? I'm afraid the answer is definitely not!

Fantastic violent origin story for Batman's butler
Young Alfred Pennyworth is recently back from duty in the war and looking to set up his own security firm. His need for justice to prevail and his cunning and physical abilities mean he gets himself into trouble quickly and frequently. A great political plot starts to reveal itself underneath Alfred's life story as is his place in the outcome of it.

Tobey Macguire is the only Spider-man I accept as the one true Spidey. I absolutely love this movie. It came out at an interesting time, as it had to be edited to remove the World Trade Centers. I liked the origin story they went with, and I liked Franco as Harry.
