It wouldn’t be wrong to say Mother! is like experiencing Pi, Requiem for a Dream, Noah and Black Swan as one movie. With infusions of Ben Wheatley’s High Rise and Alfonso Cauron’s Children of Men.

This is a film that many might love but unfortunately I didn’t. ‘mother!’ is a clear case of ambition gone horribly wrong. Other than Lawrence and Pfeiffer, film has nothing much to write home about.

Zootopia set the bar. While it’s commendable that Nut Job 2 has similar ambitions, the result will be appreciated only by the youngest viewers who just like watching the silly animals.

The children are incredible actors (2 more)
Pennywise is terrifying
A lot more in depth than the original made for tv version.
Some of the plot points were very different from the book (1 more)
Some people might consider it slow in parts if they don’t like character development.
A great Stephen King adaptation!
