What I liked - the characters, the bookstore, some of the language. What I didn't like - the amount of time it took to get to the heart of the matter. Something about the conflict avoidance in this book felt off to me

Throughout the book Mary builds up the story and leads you to believe the ending will be just as good. I felt that this book has SOOOO much potential but was very let down with how it ended.

The detail from physical description to mannerisms, not to mention the background scenery, made me feel like I was watching the story as I was reading it. A beautiful story worth reading and soaking up like sunshine itself. The Sunshine Sisters.

A handful of cute or funny moments do lie inside the movie, just not enough of them. As a kid’s film, parents could do worse, much worse, but that doesn’t necessarily make for the most ringing of endorsements.

There were a few lines that were not the same as the books but the acting was pretty good. I thought Manny was actually a pretty good actor even though he had a stunt double and he was about five.

To be honest, I didn’t want to rate this book because I loved it for how it provoked me to think, but little things like the pacing, which was understandably slow, made me give it a 4.25 star rating.

Planet Earth also uses flawless time-lapse photography to show climate and seasonal changes -- like a sandstorm in the Sahara Desert or the transformation of parched desert land in Africa into a lush feeding ground for species of all shapes and sizes.

That authenticity is what makes the film so enchanting. That’s what Showalter is so good at presenting. His films – even in their overt quirkiness – never come across as anything but sincere. He doesn’t appear in The Big Sick. Nor did he write it.

On its own, Marquand’s film is a lesser film than its two direct prequels. However, it naturally benefits from the effect of “sequel continuity” – the idea that a sequel requires less focus on story building and character development...

Barton's writing was very easy to read and encouraged me to read on to find out what happened in the story. The authenticity of the relationship between Jude, Emma and Will was shocking but I appreciated the honesty.
