Ticket to Ride: USA 1910
Ticket to Ride: USA 1910
2006 | Transportation
In the expansion review series, we take a look at a game expansion to discuss whether it is a necessary purchase/addition to one’s collection.

This breakdown is for the classic entry-level train game Ticket to Ride‘s expansion USA 1910.

This expansion fixes a giant problem that original Ticket to Ride suffered: the cards were all too small! The larger-sized cards can be seen below alongside the original tiny cards. In addition to larger train cards and destination cards, included are new destination cards and a special Globetrotter card to be earned at the end of the game. A minor rule adjustment is suggested in the USA 1910 rulebook, and a new variation of destination card mode can also be found in these rules.
I really have nothing to say here except I simply WILL NOT play Ticket to Ride without using the USA 1910 expansion. I am a big-handed man and having larger cards to handle are an absolute must for me. The new destination cards are also nice, but icing for me.

Official recommendation: Absolutely add this expansion to your game. No matter the cost.

"[Laughs.] They’re classic, I know — I’m not really picking ’em deep from my quiver — but I’ll go with The Godfather. I can watch it any day, any time. The original Godfather. The sequels were good, but the original Godfather was masterfully done. All those characters who you come to know; 30 years later you still talk about Sonny Corleone. It really sticks with you. It just felt so real. I’d read the book before I saw the movie, and usually when you read a book and then see the movie you say, “Eh, the movie didn’t live up to it,” but on that one I really think that [Coppola] captured it. Just a powerful, powerful story. And it felt real. I’m not really a fan of violence, but in that movie it didn’t bother me in the least — because none of it felt gratuitous, like they were just doing it for effect. I really believed it was the lives that those guys lived. I really thought it was just a beautiful movie. All those tremendous actors in it, too — years later, you realize he did a pretty nice job of casting it."

Seeing and enjoying the peculiar adventure of sharkboy and Lavagirl as a young teen a sequel was always wanted, when first advertised I had another Sonic The Hedgehog movie moment like "OH NO"

As a father with two monsters of my own who love sharkboy & Lavagirl they watched this before me and edged me to watch it with them...

Anyway, graphics continued from SB&LG was an appreciated touch as million dollar graphics don't always make the movie (although they help) a random casting with cute but weak acting and a plot unworthy of it's predecessor, we can be heroes is a nostalgic walk down memory lane that is both family friendly, fun (at least were the adult heroes are involved) and is more like a preschool edition of Disney's Sky High movie.

Best thing about the movie was the return of original Lavagirl actress Taylor dooley.

Appreciate the effort by Netflix, but maybe something more for the original fans next time around.

Plot: children of heroes attempt to rescue captured parents from an "evil" alien invasion ......or something like that.
