this is the first book by this author that I've read and wow, what a book. I just couldn't put it down till id finished it. a fantastic story with even better characters, make this a fab page turner of a book. this book will take you on an emotional roller coaster of a ride with all the ups and downs the characters face through out the story. this book has everything you need to make a fab read, it has betrayal, love, a few good and bad people. this book will not disappoint one bit, this is defiantly a must read book and I cant wait to read more from this author

Takes a few chapters to get going..but once you're in it's worth it!! (0 more)
Richard is missing..he doesn't know who he is, where he's from, anything..even if his name is Richard! He hires an investigator (Ryker) to 'find him' ..who tries all the usual googling etc but comes up with nothing until he goes to see a psychiatrist that's been 'helping' Richard ..then it all starts to twist and turn and people are turning up dead..and even Ryker is in danger as he keeps on uncovering more about who Richard is.
Definately worth a read..and as you get drawn further in you will want to speed read to find out the truth.

Perhaps the only thing that disturbed me about this book is that I read too many reviews before starting that warned that I would be reading Grafton's "most disturbing" novel to date -- I therefore kept waiting, worriedly, for something to horrible and awful to happen. Many bad things happen, but nothing quite to the magnitude I thought... perhaps I've read worse. But that's certainly not Grafton's fault. This book departs from Grafton's usual style of letting her protagonist, Kinsey, tell the entire story and goes back and forth between Kinsey and the other main character. It's an interesting, thoughtful, page-turner, as most Grafton novels are. I certainly recommend it and am sad at the thought of waiting another year, or more, to read the next installment.

Excellent pacing to the next Cullen adventure. A body is discovered in the hidden streets underneath Edinburgh's old town and the ensuing investigation leads them to investigate members of the Scottish music scene and venture North to Cullen's hometown of Dalhousie (loosely based on my own hometown of Carnoustie), and West to Glasgow.
The story also continues the ups and downs of Cullen's relationship with Sharon McNeill and his career aspirations, building on the previous books in the series.
This is quite a short and very pacey book that is a genuine page-turner (as the chapters are quite short it's always "one more chapter", until the cleaner gets angry at me spending too long on the toilet at work).

Wow...just wow. I read so many reviews of this book and they seemed to be a bit mixed, I almost didn't grab this book to read and I'm glad I gave it chance. Amazing. You have one friend who is dead, one who went to prison and one trying to get to the truth. This book will take you on a journey...and when you get to the end...wholly moly, look out! I enjoyed the journey this book took me on (it is possible for some a few scenes may be too gruesome) but all in all I loved this book and highly suggest it.
