Great gritty Drama
A really good powerful drama set at a care home in Liverpool just as the Covid pandemic starts.
The 2 great actors both from Liverpool are great in this. Jodi is showing recently she is a lot more than Villanelle of Killing Eve. Stephen Graham is great in what ever he does. Along with a good support cast with some well known faces. It's gritty, raw and very compelling.

Pandemic Romance
The toilet paper incident got me into this book, what crazy times?! His poor sister had to suffer and get her revenge. I don't know how I feel about them getting kinda stalkerish but it worked out and they make a pretty cute couple. I LOVE the cover to this and I think a lot of teens can identify because they have been unable to meet people at school or basically anywhere and as and adult that has already gotten my masters with no worries about a crush... I could never imagine what it is is like for this youngsters.

My coworker read this book as well but didn't like how whiney the boy was but i think they are like a ying and yang couple where she is confident and aggressive while he is sweet and meek. In fact they would have never seen each other again if it wasn't for his sister needing more tp because of her Crohn's disease. Its funnier now that we are not actually going through a tp pandemic :/

So I both hate and love that they were being irresponsible during the pandemic. I had guys wanting to come to my place when the pandemic first began but I wasn't even going over to the boy's house that I REALLY wanted to see so I didn't have the time of day for men whose names I don't remember. Immy had the time for Honeypot tho and her friend Lucy was already shaming her for being irresponsible which means I don't need to continue the warnings about germs PLUS she did wash her hands once she got back into Nico's... I mean Nate's apartment.

Ethan's thoughts about his gf coming back from her childhood home with beanie babies and maybe creating a home library was freaking adorbs!

I love the cover of this book and how we get to take a look at how multiple couple's or situationship navigate being locked in together for seven days because a tenant has been exposed to the rona virus very frightening but this book makes it cute.

I’m completely braised. I love Claire Fullers writing, I’ve loved everything I’ve read by her and The Memory of Animals is no exception. And the fact that this could be described as a dystopian or even an apocalyptic novel made it even more fascinating. I love this genre - even though it usually enters my dreams and makes for an interesting nights sleep!

This is a pandemic novel - but not our pandemic, not Covid. This is a dropsy-type disease, where those infected swell up, their brains swell up too, they forget - and more often than not, they die.

Neffy (Nefeli) and a group of young people volunteer to be vaccinated against, and then infected by, the virus. Something goes wrong, and it looks as though Neffy and four other test volunteers are the only ones who are alive and well. But they can’t leave the building they’re in and the food is running out.

Neffy is a Marine Biologist, an Aquarist, and my favourite parts were her letters to ‘H’ as well as her flashbacks to childhood and pre-pandemic.

This isn’t *just* a speculative, science fiction book, it’s a story about the human condition, about the human drive to survive against the odds, regret, loss, grief, memory, love and above all, hope.

I could go on and on about this. I would never have expected a novel like this from Claire Fuller after reading her previous novels, but that’s what makes it even better. I actually read this twice (unheard of for me, actually). I finished it and immediately started reading again.

So yes, I would most definitely strongly recommend this book!

A film about survival after a viral pandemic outbreak. It was more of a drama than a horror film, so if you're expecting zombies etc, you'll be disappointed. It touches on a few issues of trust when everyone has to look out for themselves, a very bleak film overall. The cast was good and it's well made, you might just be a bit misled by how it's advertised. Starring Emily VanCamp of @Revenge - Season 1
And the @Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

I am sure some children will not remember that there was a pandemic? Well, this book "Giving Hope: A Child's Journey Through a Pandemic" is a good one for children of all ages. Young children will be wondering why things have changed and why they can not see their friends and family.

This book does that through the eyes of a child or children. I am not quite sure; This is where the half star (moon) comes in, in my rating of four and a half stars (moons). Otherwise, this book does explain all about the emotions they will go through, from being worried to many others.

These diary entries are well done; Talking about what is going on with children and what is happening around them. Each one occurs with an emotion. This book is good to have around to explain the feelings going on during a stay-at-home order or lockdown, as many have called it.

This book can teach children who are all essential or heroes during this difficult time. This book is not just for a pandemic situation. I could be used to guide during other struggling or difficult times ahead.

The pictures are very bright and vivid. They do tell the emotion or emotions the child is feeling during that diary entry. The drawings are lovely throughout the book. There are some ideas that children can do to help with the changes and maybe even get in though with family during a hard time. Can your child or children come up with something you could do to bring hope? Maybe even come up with some ideas to do around your neighbor and show them or tell you to care while trying to stay safe.

I read this in the latter stages of 2023, approximately 3 years after the Covid-19 Worldwide pandemic had first struck.

It was a little uncomfortable doing so at first, especially as the main driver for the plot was the start of a worldwide pandemic that badly affected the Human Race.

Caused by mans encroachment of, and deforestation of, Nature.

Sound at all familiar?

Indeed, in his foreward the author even states that he debated finishing the novel for that very reason ...

Anyway, once you get past the uncomfortable feeling, what you have here is a fairly standard Sigma Force story, with Guy Pierce and his team racing against the clock to find the cause of, and a cure to, the contagion whilst other members of the team look for a scientific solution.

I have to say, however, that this particular entry didn't gel as much with me: perhaps because of the complete sidelining of Seichan and Guy's home life? Perhaps because I didn't find the heavy focus on the natural world as interesting as those that focus more on history (and mythology).

Whatever the reason, it just didn't come across as enjoyable to me.

Great introduction to board games
Easy to teach/learn
A great game that works well
Pandemic was my first (grown up) board game in a while... It was also a great way to introduce others to tabletop gaming because it is so easy to teach on the fly...the mechanics work really well thematically...it's great to have in your collection and start a game night with friends or family because there isn't any bickering because the whole point of the game is to work together
