From the creative story to the detailed artwork, Daria Song has brought us another fantastic coloring book. Continuing with the dream style story and beautiful pages, this book is sure to keep me occupied for hours. Coloring has becoming a peaceful and quiet outlet for me over the past year or so. Expressing creativity on paper through color is one of my favorite things to do. If you have not experienced the joy of putting your pencil to page, Daria's series is an excellent place to start. I enjoy the intricate detail of her work. I have always had an obsession with stars and Daria's stars have a very unique personality which I love. Yes this seems to have a Breakfast Club does horror vibe to it but it's more Dawson's Creek, if Dawson's Creeks writing went downhill and they did murder.
The acting is questionable for a movie but be perfect for a TV teen drama, the plot is paper thin but it's the ridiculous set up I have the biggest problem with.
So a bunch of stereotypes, I'm sorry I mean kids turn up on Saturday for detention but due to, I kid you not, a rabid possum incident at the school they are having detention in a former prison. WTF?!? Are rabid possums a big problem in America? Why are they using a prison? Surely there must be other schools.
So teacher is killed, kids are left with a psycho who wants something.
Murders occur off screen, very little blood and very little scare factor.
Yet somehow I started to enjoy the characters interactions with each other.
More Dawson's Creek then Wolf Creek

Happy Death Day is far more enjoyable than it has any right to be - a PG-13 rated horror version of Groundhog Day sounds pretty uninteresting on paper, but it absolutely doesn't take itself seriously, and that works in it's favour.
The basic plot premise is nothing new, and has been done better in films like Edge of Tomorrow, but it has fun with it.
Every side character is set up to have a motive, so the identity of the masked killer is well hidden, and keeps you guessing throughout.
The lead actress Jessica Rothe is really good fun, as her character goes through a personality shift as she learns to appreciate the people in her life instead of being a total douche. (This would usually be an eye rolling plot point, but the film genuinely lands some good emotional beats)
It's definitely a far cry from being a classic horror film (that PG-13 rating is a potential contributor) but it's honestly a fun movie.

I received this book from YA Reads as part of their blog tour in return for a fair and honest review.
This is the third book in the Rowan Slone set and you just know that things won't be going smoothly for her. Although on paper her life is going well, in actuality she is struggling to manage. Helping Jess with her fractious 5-month old son doesn't exactly help with her studying time. Also, Rowan is now with Shane and she enjoys his kisses, there doesn't appear to be any spark between them. When Mike appears back on the scene, it is no surprise that Rowan spends more time with him than she has done previously with Shane.
The book moves along at a fair pace as there is a lot to wrap up in this final book. It is all wrapped up though and leads to a very satisfying conclusion. This has been a wonderful, heart-wrenching series that has been enjoyable throughout.

Once upon a time there was this amazingly talented writer and director from Tennessee that created pure cinema magic every time he put pen to paper, finger to keyboard, eye to camera. That time was and is now and his name is Quentin Tarantino. His ninth and newest film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood has as many stars as one might see spread across the night sky lighting up the Hollywood Hills, actually that light might just be from the spotlights at the newest dirty movie premiere. Every actor delivers what one might say is some of the greatest acting they've seen in their whole life. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is more tasteful than a can of Wolf's Tooth dog food, as crisp and refreshing as an Old Chattanooga beer, and as smooth as a Red Apple unfiltered cigarette with a drag that you want to keep pulling from and never want to end.
