However this still managed to grab my attention, which is why I've persevered instead of giving up.
Admittedly my interest only grew enough for me to not want to put it down once Adrian was introduced around the half-way mark. The fact that Raylene had someone to interact with other than herself and phone-calls with contacts every so often was a big plus for me. I needed to read her bonding with someone because she came across as a bit heartless at times.
Although I liked this, I don't think I'm going to read the second book in the series despite having it in paperback. Not really my sort of thing.

Anyway, to start with I thought this series would be a bit like the authors [b:Heist Society|6574102|Heist Society (Heist Society, #1)|Ally Carter|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1359254479s/6574102.jpg|6767235] series--same characters, different mission every book--but it's turning out to have one big story arc that you get bits and pieces of every time you read a book in the series while still containing enough fun bits and bobs to make each story complete.
I'm still waiting for books 4 and 5 to arrive but as soon as they do, I'll be continuing this series to see what happens with my fave foursome and Zach and Mr Solomon.

This book has all the ingredients that makes a great mystery novel. The question is what is there not to love history mixed with fiction, Sherlock Holmes, Jack the Ripper with a great references to Agatha Christie and a famous little Belgian detective.
Amanda's book deserves so much more then the twos reviews it has on Amazon .
The book is truly well researched and comes across as a great labour of love , I loved spotting the historical cases that where mixed among the fiction. If you have the opportunity to read this book I recommend you do it's not to be missed.
Amanda I loved this book from start to finish thank you for the opportunity to read it I hope to see more of this wonderful character
