maybe not one for me!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

My review for this book will be short, because, to be honest, I'm really not sure what I just read!

I'll summarise as best as I can though.

I liked that multiple people have a say. So we get to hear from all the important people.

I LOVED the sarcasm from everyone! Trouble, especially.

I did not like, and I think this was my biggest issue, that multiple names were used for the same person. I got a bit confused right at the prologue and I think that set the screen for the rest of the book.

Lots of paranormal themes: prophecies, soul mates, demons, witches and gods, and a rare one: reincarnations. I liked that.

But, like I said, the multiple names thing kinda threw for the whole book, and I'm still a little confused by it all!

Maybe not one for me, but I did finish it, so

3 stars

So so good. We finally get to see more from Gemma and Cade this was a short book but it packed a punch. This can be a dark world but it’s so good.

CLOUD DRAGON is the second book in the Dragon Prophecy series and, although it says you can read it as a standalone, I would definitely recommend you read it as part of the series. I haven't read book one and felt the loss of it.

Although I enjoyed the story, with the gnomes, the babies, and the mountain, I did struggle to fully comprehend it sometimes when it wasn't always clear who was speaking telepathically to whom. The timeline is also fast-paced and leaps ahead in places.

This is so much more than a paranormal romance. I would put it in the family saga category too. There is a lot going on with different dragons and wolves mentioned in different locations. I enjoyed this story but felt a little disconnected from it.

Paranormal Activity (2007)
Paranormal Activity (2007)
2007 | Horror
It's easy to see, even in hindsight, why Paranormal Activity created such a buzz upon release. It's commitment to the whole "true story" aspect is admirable, even if it feels overly gimmicky, and it's minimilast approach and low budget ensure that it has an atmosphere of realism, whilst providing a few decent scares along the way.
The acting is certainly questionable. I get that the filmmakers were going for a realistic couple with Katie and Micah, but the dialogue definitely comes across as improvised in an amateur kind of way. I can't imagine any couple talking like that in real life, and it's a bit jarring.
The narrative ramps up nicely and certainly ends with a bang, but the vast majority is a little too uneventful considering we spend all of it with two unlikable characters.
For what it is though, PA does what it's sets out to do. It's unnerving horror that appeals to everyone and anyone looking for a fun kind of scare, nothing more, nothing less.
