The Chocolate Lady (94 KP) rated Cher Ami and Major Whittlesey in Books

This new historical fiction book is also biographical fiction, and it might appeal to lovers of historical fantasy, because of the paranormal elements included. "Cher Ami and Major Whittlesey" tells the story of a soldier in WWI and the homing pigeon that helped rescue his battalion. I hope you'll take a look at my #bookreview of this beautifully written novel by Kathleen Rooney on my blog now.

fantastic read
A quick amazing read by this author. This book is exhilarating, steamy, action packed with some paranormal elements thrown in. The characters were really well written with amazing hot chemistry between them. The story flows perfectly with a few twists and turns. This maybe a quick read but its definitely worth the time. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.

Book Divas (227 KP) rated Goth Girl Virgin Queen in Books

This well written story line pulls you in right from the very beginning and immediately puts you right into all of the action, the unexpected treachery and the paranormal elements. The author's world building and characters are right on. I gave this four stars because there were some times were the story seems to lose its pace and dragged on a bit.

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Stilts (Tessa Dark Trilogy) Book One in Books

4.5 stars.
I loved the world building and the stilt walking. Very imaginative.
This is my third book by the author, the others being Vampire Seeker and Witch, which were both brilliant. This was no different.
The author has this way of writing a good romance mixed with paranormal elements that are sometimes a little creepy. This was a little less on the romance but it was still amazing and has left me wanting the next book NOW!
I need to know what's going to happen when they get to the Island!
If you haven't read a Tim O'Rourke book yet, you totally should!

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2200 KP) rated The Skeleton Takes a Bow (Family Skeleton Mystery #2) in Books

Georgia has reluctantly agreed to let Sid, her best friend the skeleton, star in the play at her daughter’s high school. Okay, star might be the wrong word since Sid’s skull is playing the part of Yorick in Hamlet. Either way, he’s excited to get out of the house. However, when he is accidently left at the school overnight, he hears a murder. With no body, the police won’t take Georgia seriously. Can Sid and Georgia track down the killer when they don’t know who the victim is?
This is a fun dip into the light end of the paranormal spectrum since Sid is the only paranormal element in the book. The plot is different from a normal cozy, and as a result appears to wander a bit at the beginning, but the author uses all those elements in the end before bringing us to a logical climax. Meanwhile, the characters are fun, charming, and fully fleshed out. Yes, even Sid.

Book Divas (227 KP) rated A Quarrel Called (Stewards of the Plane #1) in Books
Dec 12, 2017 (Updated Dec 12, 2017)
Once I got into the story line I couldn't put it down. This was truly an interesting and intriguing read though by the end I was left with some questions but not enough to deter my rating. I did find some of the characters somewhat lacking but there were others such as Melody and Sam that made it all worthwhile to me. I enjoyed the paranormal elements to this story and I certainly enjoyed the world building. I will definitely read the next book in the series.
