Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2200 KP) rated Caught in the Middle in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Merry is a reporter in a small Pennsylvania town. One night, she arrives home to find a body in her trunk. Which means the killer starts coming after her. I loved this book just as much as the first time around. The Christian aspect is handled well, the story moves quickly, and the characters are lovable.

Jessica Cashen (1 KP) rated Shoebox Funeral: Stories from Wolf Creek in Books
May 16, 2018
This book is beautifully written. It is full of short stories about a girl in a large family on big ol farm in Pennsylvania. It is also about her love of cats and kittens, and the many animals that came and went on the farm. Most of the stories are sad, but have beautiful illustrations. But overall I really enjoyed reading this book.
I received an ARC copy of this book from #NetGalley and I am leaving a voluntary, honest review.

Laura (45 KP) rated My Bloody Valentine 3-D (2009) in Movies

The first time I watched this movie was in 3D at the theater and the effects made it a little more gross. Which is great, because it's a slasher movie. Slasher movies aren't always the highest quality, but this is a fun, bloody movie with a twist that got me in the end. I was suspicious of almost every character at some point.
The problem I found on my recent viewing was minor and weird, but this takes place in a coal town in central Pennsylvania. In February. I grew up there, it's cold. But no one wears a real coat or even looks chilly in this whole movie. Just had to make that bother someone else ?

Worshiped at our house!
When grumpy weatherman Bill Murray is forced to relive the same day In Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania over and over until he fulfills some sort of prophecy or at least hopefully gets the girls of his dreams, the result is one of the most hilarious quotable comedies of all time.
It's hard to know exactly how long Phil Connors was there in total; however, since he was a master pianist by the end, you would almost have to assume several years.
Every scene is great fun including the masterful Stephen Tobolowsky as everyone's favorite insurance salesman, Ned Ryerson.
My family loves this movie so much, we drove 3 hours to Woodstock, Illinois to where the movie was filmed and took the "Groundhog Tour". I even bought a t-shirt.
This movie is one of a kind.

Bong Mines Entertainment (15 KP) rated Wake Up (Dreams Come True) - Single by Mazi KaBi in Music
Jun 18, 2019
Mazi KaBi is a rapper from West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Not too long ago, he released a heartfelt hip-hop tune, entitled, “Wake Up (Dreams Come True)”.
“‘Cause you’re the brightest little light in my darkness. Yeah, I thought it was all bad until I saw you. What it means to be a dad is enormous. I’ma give you the whole world and all the fortune. That’s in the plan, that’s the plan, so merci beaucoup. ‘Cause you’re great and they may hate on you.” – lyrics
‘Wake Up (Dreams Come True)’ contains a relatable storyline, pleasing rap vocals, and vibey instrumentation flavored with a contemporary hip-hop aroma.
“I’m putting all active dads with daughters in the spotlight—letting people know there are still good dads out here.” – Mazi KaBi

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2200 KP) rated Hearse and Buggy (An Amish Mystery, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
After her divorce, Claire has settled into the town of Heavenly, Pennsylvania, thanks to her aunt. She’s begun to make friends among the Amish and even opened a store that sells the items her new friends make. However, the potential peace of her new life is shattered when a man is found murdered outside her store. He left town recently after being accused of stealing from the Amish. Even though murder is not in their beliefs, might one of Claire’s new friends killed him?
The characters in this book are already fully developed and alive. They drew me into the story and made me care about several sub-plots that do slow down the mystery early on. Still, once the mystery takes center stage, it is well plotted with clues and red herrings along the way.
