I think this film is fine. It's hard for me to feel attached to the content because I was 2 when 9/11 happened. It's not that I don't understand the gravity of the situation or anything along those lines, I just think that this movie, in particular, doesn't resonate with me as it does with other people. People who were there, people who knew who was on those planes, people who watched it on tv in schools. It's interesting to me that that's how it affected me. I am definitely sympathetic and very emotional when it comes to movies, regardless of time period or topic, if it makes me cry it makes me cry. This film was just not one of those.

Much delayed by the pandemic (roughly 2 years), this is the third Kingsman film, abandoning the modern-day setting of the first and second for a World War One era prequel.
Which proves to be a good move, injecting a spot of interest into the movie - I, for one, struggled with the second entry - and allowing a mishmash of history and fact to play out on screen.
This also has a shocking moment about roughly 2/3rds of the way through, during the period of the movie in the trenches that almost feels like it belongs to a different film altogether.
It also has an absolutely bonkers fight scene involving Rasputin: it's a pity, I feel, that he does not have a larger role than he does!

I am not a member of the RBG cult, and I honestly have no idea as to why it even exists. But, I was kind of bored yesterday and needed to get out of the house, so I decided to go see this.
I was equally bored. It started out with RBG at Harvard in law school, and, guess what? The Dean of the school and a lot of dudes were misogynist , color me shocked (heavy sarcasm). This film covers about 20 years, and dragged like it covered that amount of time. I think Felicity Jones did a good job with what she was given and her period clothing was one of my favorite things. How the court cases went weren't really a secret, so I wasn't sure why people were gasping during it. It was bizarre.
Honestly, the best part of the film was how smoking hot Armie Hammer looked.
In short, an over-hyped film, about an over-hyped figure.

Surprisingly Great
I feel like I'm fairly "In the Know" when it comes to films. I make it my business to know all the upcoming films, but this one definitely snuck under my radar even all these years later. A solid film for the entire family, I only wish I had caught this one sooner. It's the story of penguin Cody Maverick (Shia LaBeouf)and his journey to win top surfer at the World Surfing Championship in Hawaii.
Acting: 10
Great cast of voice actors led by LaBeouf. The voices breathe life into each character giving them their own flair. Jeff Bridges seems to always find a way to be the shining moment in almost every film he's in.
Beginning: 10
Characters: 10
Cinematography/Visuals: 10
Some of the best animation I have seen in film, hands down. The colors are bright and vivid, teeming with life. Where the visuals really shine are during the surfing scenes. There appears to be so much care that went into the water and wave animation and it pays off on screen. I can't wait to watch this film on a 4K television.
Conflict: 10
Genre: 8
Memorability: 6
Pace: 8
Plot: 10
If a penguin surfing isn't original enough for you, the story as a whole is enough to keep you entertained. Has there ever been an animated film about surfing period, let alone surfing animals? Not sure, but this film captured its essence well while respecting the sport.
Resolution: 10
Overall: 92
With a hilarious opener, classic characters, and Joe the Chicken (trust me, you'll love him), this film is a home run. Great movie for a family night.
