The Plans We Made; I pick up this book primarily for the name not going to lie. I had never read a book by either of the authors and quite honestly, I tend to stay away from books dealing with cancer as it hits a little to close to home. But I felt like I was supposed to read this book.
The Plans We Made starts out with two separate stories that eventually merge to form a compelling story of honesty, love, and second chances. I think the authors really tried to convey the title of the book throughout the story, always coming back to the plans we make are not always what God knows is supposed to happen in our lives. The plot was slow at first as you are introduced to both stories, which I liked as I got to understand the stories individually without getting names confused. By the end of the story, I was wishing the pace would slow down as I did not want the story to end!
The characters in this book were a wide range of personalities that all seemed to fit together like a puzzle. The more you add the better picture you have. I thought both Caroline and Linda, the main characters, were well laid out and very engaging and realistic with their actions and words.
From this story’s delicate yet real handling of the circumstances surrounding cancer to the struggle of doing what is right even at the cost of your job. I sincerely enjoyed this book and give it 4 out of 5 stars, as I did have a little trouble with Caroline’s actions at almost the end of the book as they didn’t seem to line up with her personality from the rest of the book. I definitely recommend reading this book if you like Karen Kingsbury, T.I. Lowe, or Denise Hunter.

a great step out of my comfort zone!

A step out of my comfort zone, but a very welcome one!
Jack is from London, but has relocated clear across the globe after *something* happened. He and his partner are now tasked with finding out where the missing MMA fighter is, and who killed the trainer.
Jack is. . .interesting! He's not a perfect detective, not by any means, but I think, in his own way, his heart is in the right place. In JACK's right place, you know? Lots of hints and clues and titbits abotu what happened in London to send him running to Australia, but I didn't get the FULL picture, not really. And I really really want it! I think, this might be the only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars, was because I wasn't putting the clues and hints together well enough.
Oh, wait, no. there was another point I want to make. Claudia, Jack's partner, gets a chapter. Just the one. And I wanted more of her, or none of her. that one chapter had my hopes up of a dual point of view, and it's not, not really. One chapter is a tease! So in future books, can we have MORE Claudia, please??
The case of the MMA fighter and missing trainer is well laid out, and I wasn't sure which way it was gonna go til the end, so I was fully engaged and kept on my toes. Thoroughly kept on my toes, if I'm honest and that's a rare thing these days!
This is a step out of my comfort zone, I tend to mostly stick to romance of some description, so the blurb most have grabbed something at me for me to request it. I have not a clue what that was, but I'm very pleased it did.
I'd like to follow Jack and Claudia, they are good together!

In Safe Arms is the second book in the My Truth series, and we get to have Trent and Angelo's story. You could read this as a standalone, but in all honesty, why? Read book one (All He Needs) and get the bigger, better, fuller picture involving these characters!
Now, Trent was never my favourite, but don't you just love it when an author spins you on your head and you actually end up rooting for the guy?!?!? This is what happened with Trent. I will say I am surprised how many times Angelo actually stayed with him. That man is a saint!!! Yes, the reasons are all there, and trust me, you will certainly feel for Trent by the end of it. His was a hard, rocky path to follow, and luckily for him, Angelo DID stick by him.
This is a moving story, that is exceptionally well-written. I was fully invested with the characters and the storyline, which flowed amazingly well. Now, you may be wondering why I've only given this four stars if I'm raving about it. It is simply some parts of the story disappeared. They are not major parts of the story by any means, but I was left with a nagging toothache, wondering just what had happened to... well, it's not for me to say. I would suggest you read this for yourself, and then you might see what I mean, or you might be that blown away by the rest of the story, that it doesn't matter. It doesn't affect the whole story, I promise you that.
With no editing or grammatical errors, this book was a hard but satisfying read, and definitely recommended by me.

I will say I am surprised how many times Angelo actually stayed with him. That man is a saint!!! Yes, the reasons are all there, and trust me, you will certainly feel for Trent by the end of it.
