Absolver
2017 | Fighting
It is a quiet soothing game that is engrossing and addictive. A highly developed combat system allow real time combat and strategic concepts to support each other. (0 more)
Released on Aug 27, 2017 there may be some tweaks to be made, still very engaging game (0 more)
Soothing Combat..?!..
There are no guns in Absolver. Set in the ruins of a great city, you are a prospective (prospect) monk (absolver) Your first task either alone or with others is to seek out the Marked Ones and defeat them. This is the only way you will gain the title of Absolver. The artwork is stylized and sparse. The game leaves the player with the minimum instructions to navigate through the city. The prospect can choose from three different fighting styles. Each style has four directional stances and moves that available in that stance and direction. The player builds her combat moves in a strategic manner called a combat deck. This game is a blast and soothing at the same time. Note.. it can be played with a keyboard and mouse or a game controller. It is available for pc and ps4 and can be downloaded through Steam

Boring if you can't think on your feet.
Coup, along with other bluffing games such as the Resistance, have been very popular games for groups, as they do not require much of an introduction and people can play a game pretty quickly. Whilst I appreciate people may love this game, it does have flaws. Unlike Resistance, each player plays the game solo and therefore cannot hide behind the logic of others. This game requires you to input at every step of the way and, if you're trying to bluff, you must always stay ahead and remember how other people have played, which can be uncomfortable and lead to player elimination. For those who are not too quick with their responses or have a poor poker face, this game is frustrating and will lead to elimination...which in turn is not great for the remaining players as this reduces the staying power of the game. Whilst I enjoyed playing this game a handful of times, none of my friends want to play it any more. We prefer the Resistance:Avalon for our bluffing fix.

Terraforming Mars: Colonies
Terraforming Mars: Colonies
2018 | Game Expansion, Science Fiction, Space
The Colonies expansion to Terraforming Mars is an interesting addition to the game. It adds new cards that deals with a new mechanic called colonies. Colonies are represented by randomly selected tiles of small moons/planetoids (Sorry Pluto) that give bonuses such as cards, or resources when a trade fleet is sent out to trade with them. Each player starts with one trade fleet ( possible to get more later) that can be sent out for credits, energy, or titanium. This flexibility in choices allow for multiple engine types to be able to use colonies. A player also has an option to colonize one of these colonies, which gets them an initial colony bonus and an additional one anytime anyone trades with it.

This expansion adds a little extra bloat to the game, but it enable interesting options to help improve your engine or get that little extra push. There are some additional floater cards as well to help support the theme from Venus, and some other cards that make for additonal VPs. I do enjoy this expansion, even if it adds an extra bit of time to the game.

The maps may confuse some
Muramasa: The Demon Blade was my favorite game released for the Wii, and remains one of my favorite video games of all time. The hand-painted background illustrations and characters fly by as you explore the world, either as Momohime or Kisuke, and fight your way through each screen and each boss.

Part of the reason I love this game as much as I do is that it's an odd duck. There's too much role-play to be a full on action game, but too many elements of an action game to be a full on role-player; but still somehow manages to to feel quite like an action role-player. Muramasa occupies a weird middle ground that I haven't encountered in any other action/role-play title, and it's a middle ground that I keep going back to.

Lately my Wii has been just a Homebrew-channel-running emulator machine, but rediscovering Muramasa has turned it back into an actual Wii. I almost even want to buy a PS Vita, just to pick up a copy of Muramasa Rebirth!

Amelia's Tea (8 KP) rated the Xbox One version of The Outer Worlds in Video Games

Great writing, from story, to characters, to lore. (1 more)
It's beautiful, and atmospheric with great music.
At time of playing (launch, before any updates) there's a few clunky things: like constantly drawing your weapon when you don't mean to. (1 more)
I had one instance where entering a room in the final mission kept completely crashing my game, and I had to parkour my way around to overcome this. Hopefully this is patched out soon!
Saved the Single Player
I loved this game. I imagine I'll be playing it for many years to come, and I'm hoping desperately for a sequel! I've been missing single player RPGs desperately lately, with studios like BioWare leaving them behind.

This game really scratched that itch for me. It's got great characters, great gameplay and a great story. It's just great. I can't recommend it enough.

Obviously it has some kinks to be worked out, but I was very easily able to overlook them when playing.
I am a little disappointed that some features were left out, like third person view and romances, but hope that these could be implemented into a sequel. Either way, I still enjoyed playing.

Crazy fun party game
Players: 2-8
Time: 30-45 minutes

Players: Can play up to 8? Anything that plays up to 8 is a plus for me. We have different player amounts for our group all the time and sometimes you need a bigger game.
Time: Not only is it a larger group game, but it plays fast. Turns are so quick you guys. Read a single card and follow the text. It's that fast.
Simple Rules: Literally your turn is either draw 2 cards or draw 1 card and play 1 card. Then follow the text on the played card and keep up with ongoing effects. Example. The yay card says you can't be neighed(stopped from playing a card). Super simple to keep up with.
Artwork: The game is made by TeeTurtle. Shout out to them for the artwork in the game. It's all cutesy unicorns and such. If you don't know. TeeTurtle makes shirts and such. They have a cool and hip style which makes this a fun and great game to look at. Each card is unique.
