Great crime drama that feels very cinematic ?
I am not big into TV shows however after watching the first two seasons of Ozark I was immediately hooked. Season three is equally as good if not better than previous two. For one, every character's actions have consequences that contribute to the larger story as whole. Additionally, the intensity in each episode is raised just a bit enough to keep the audience from predicting what will happen next. If you thought season 2 was a bit slower, season three definitely takes it up a couple of notches. I am excited for future seasons and give the show my high praise.

After four attempts (this fourth, and final, one was the most productive, reaching the 50% mark), I am giving up on 'The Brakespeare Voyage'. There were some great concepts, interesting even, but by the mid-point, I just had had enough. The story's narrative was awkward after a while, with it changing from Scarratt to Nebaioth to transcripts. It was just too much. I found Daniel O'Mahoney's FP entry, 'Newtons Sleep' as well as Lawrence Miles' 'This Town Will Never Let Us Go' to be far easier to finish. It's a pity, as I've heard such praise for this one, but for me, it just felt like too many ideas/concepts at one time!

After reading many reviews filled with praise for Kerry Greenwood's Phryne Fisher mystery novels, I finally decided to give them a look. The idea of a 1920s amateur sleuth in Australia was certainly a draw. That the sleuth is a woman was also attractive, particularly since I always loved Miss Marple, as well as Christie's books staring the adorable duo of Tommy and Tuppence. The question is could Greenwood's debut of this series live up to the creative twists mixed with charm and elegance that made Christie so famous and beloved. Find out in my review of "Cocaine Blues" here.
