I enjoyed The Cruel Prince. It was interesting and kept my attention, had me guessing at what could possibly be Jude's next move. I've never been particularly good at chess, so there were many secrets and strategies I did not foresee, which made things more interesting. I'm a romantic girl at heart and I think that was my downfall in reading this book, I kept expecting a romantic angle, like in The Red Queen or Ash Princess. Despite that, I really liked it!

Start of an amazing series
This book is a little Beauty and the Beast-esque, which makes me love it all the more.
Especially as Belle is my favourite Disney Princess!

The main character is a strong female who overcomes many challenges, she certainly can't be seen as weak or a damsel in distress.

Highly recommend this YA series to anyone that enjoys fantasy, it is possibly a bit graphic for younger readers though.

After I read the princess one - I realized this was a series that I needed to continue and immediately found this book at the library (actually I think I may buy both because they were that on my level). This book's subject matter is more intense than the first book, and it was somewhat harder to read, because damn if all of the things written weren't so true to life. Very along the current movement going on with women empowerment - such a lovely book.

An old film I never got round to watching. Anne Hathaway's first major film role. It's a fairly simple tale along the lines of Cinderella, and class change. From the director of @Pretty Woman (1990) it's also similar to @Miss Congeniality (2000) released the year before. A shy nerdy girl discovers she is a Princess and is schooled by Disney Royalty Julie Andrews. Ok for a family film if not that original.
