What a great read.
This book never has a dull moment with suspense, humour and just the right amount of kink to keep you turning the pages.
Ex Domme and thief, Roz Spring is witness to a murder. Andy McTavish is trying to get her to go into protective custody before the murderer, Ex navy seal turn bad, Hall, gets his evil hands on her. But Roz has other ideas as she tries to raise the money to help her low life dad pay off the bad guys so after he is released from prison they don't put him six feet under.

Must pay close attention

Let me stay off by saying I am a huge fan of Stephen King! This show takes place in Castle Rock, which is where Shawshank prison is. The show is about 2 boys, one black and one white, who are claiming to be the exact same person. It follows these 2 characters through life to how they got where they are today. On the show there are several references/easter eggs to other Stephen King book and movies. It was a really good watch but you have to pay close attention to follow the story properly.

I have re-watched this movie yesterday, and it gave me the feelings again!
From the story line, to the cast and the characters, to the issues these characters are facing, this is the best prison based movie I have ever watched.
I loved how they show the meaning of freedom, and for us, that are free, this is not something we often think about. How playing one song might make you feel, or drinking beers on a rooftop on a sunny day.
You don't really know what you have, until you lose it!

Weak follow up
5 years after the original film we have a surprise sequel. The first film was OK but hardly a stand out film. This and a 3rd film were shot close together. The plot is rather silly but you expect that. I didn't like the design of the prison this time. Trying to make it look high tech and automated... With a lot of neon lights. It just looks very low budget. A few good fight scenes but little else. A shame when you look at the cast list.
Remy Tankel Carroll (36 KP) rated The Sun Does Shine: How I Found Life and Freedom on Death Row in Books
Dec 19, 2018
This book is heartbreaking and thought-provoking. I can't imagine spending half of my life in prison for something I didn't do. That Mr. Hinton was on death row all that time makes it that much worse. The blatant prejudice shown by those involved in Mr. Hinton's arrest, trial, and conviction is unforgivable, yet he was able to find it in his heart forgive them. Mr. Hinton is an amazing man. I hope the people who hear him speak are inspired by his story. We need every voice to help fix our very broken justice system.
Dean (6925 KP) rated Adulthood (2008) in Movies

A good follow up to the first film Kidulthood, set 6 years later with Sam being released from prison. It's not quite as dramatic as the first, but still a good film. Nice to see the majority of the same cast, made 3 years after the first, now looking a bit older. This film centers around Sam mainly. Some might find the slang a bit too quick, hard to understand......but a lot of young boys do sound like that in London! A good film dealing with revenge and growing up and showing that violence wont get you anywhere.
